    Attentive Staff, Clean Home, Thriving

My mom moved here from out of state and I'm very satisfied - the staff were caring, responsive, and instrumental in a smooth transition, with excellent communication and attentive 24-hour nursing that gave us real peace of mind. The bright, spotless, home-like facility has wonderful meals, varied activities (including strong memory-care support), and staff who know residents' names; she's happier, socializing, and more independent, so I'd recommend this place for families needing compassionate, professional care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews portray Ingersoll Place as a well-kept, community-oriented assisted-living campus with a strong emphasis on social programming and hospitality-style amenities. Many families and residents praise the facility’s bright common areas (atrium and dining room), consistent sanitation, and an atmosphere that many describe as home-like. The campus offers a suite of on-site services — dining, housekeeping, laundry, medication management, salon services, library and fitness spaces — that support independent and memory-care residents.

Care and staff: Care quality is frequently described as attentive and compassionate. Reviewers commonly note 24-hour nursing coverage, engaged memory-care staff, and helpful nursing and physician involvement for higher-acuity needs. Staff interactions are repeatedly characterized as friendly and personable; admissions and marketing personnel are often cited for smooth transitions and ongoing communication. However, a pattern of inconsistent staffing levels and turnover emerges in a subset of accounts. Consequences described include extended shifts, reliance on per-diem staff, and variable responsiveness. Prospective families should clarify current staffing ratios, shift practices, and staff-training/retention measures during a tour.

Dining and activities: Dining is a consistent strength for many residents — restaurant-like presentation, an accomplished chef, and varied menus receive frequent praise. A minority of reviewers report occasional declines in meal quality or inconsistent offerings tied to specific dates or events. The activities program is a highlight: reviewers describe a robust, varied calendar (exercise classes, outings, crafts, trips) that supports socialization and mood improvement. Transportation services for shopping and excursions are available, though some families request clearer scheduling information.

Facilities and operations: The physical plant is generally described as clean, bright and well-maintained, with attractive outdoor spaces and secure garden seating. Studio apartments with kitchenettes and hotel-like common areas are noted as contributing to resident comfort. At the same time, a small but important number of reviews raise operational concerns such as intermittent heating problems and occasional lapses in maintenance responsiveness. There are also criticisms about landscaping decisions that changed the character of the grounds and generated resident dissatisfaction.

Management, transparency, and finances: Admissions and transition support (including cross-state relocation help and rehab transfers) are frequently cited as effective and responsive. Conversely, cost and financial transparency are recurring concerns: Ingersoll Place is characterized as relatively expensive, with limited on-site financial-assistance options and insufficient long-term financial-planning guidance for some families. Reviewers suggest structured financial reviews and clearer explanations of refund/rebate policies. There is also one category of serious concern — allegations of resident property loss — that prospective families should address directly with management and through contract and security-policy review.

Bottom line: Ingersoll Place appears well suited to prospective residents seeking an active, social assisted-living environment with reliable clinical coverage and hospitality-style amenities, provided they can meet the facility’s cost structure. Key due-diligence items before committing include verifying current staffing levels and turnover, reviewing security and personal-property protection policies, confirming maintenance response times (including HVAC/heating issue policies), and obtaining clear, written financial-planning information (including refund/rebate and long-term cost projections).

    About Ingersoll Place

Ingersoll Place, also called Ingersoll Adult Home, has been serving older adults since 1924 as a nonprofit group home. The community has 70 employees and provides permanent assisted-living for up to 72 residents. People living here may have Alzheimer's, dementia, or other memory issues, or they might need extra help with everyday activities like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine. There's a real focus on comfort, dignity, and letting people keep as much independence as they can, with staff available to help 24 hours a day whenever someone needs it.

The grounds are well-tended and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with the kind of familiar faces at the front desk and friendly talk between residents and staff that makes a place feel like home. There are memory care services for those with memory loss or cognitive changes, designed to lower stress and keep people safe, and there's a calendar full of activities for residents to join in whenever they'd like. The facility does offer meals, including artfully arranged dinners, and provides Wi-Fi, transportation, and parking as part of daily life. People can also come for short periods through respite care, which gives families a break while giving their loved ones access to all the regular care and services residents get.

Ingersoll Place supports individuals who can't stay in their own homes any longer because of physical limits or memory problems, with personal plans tailored to each person's needs and interests. The organization serves low-income seniors as well and is committed to meeting licensing standards, with regular biannual reviews. Staff help make hard choices a little easier for both residents and their families by providing honest support in a setting with a lot of history behind it. The community aims to give residents a safe, nurturing place to live where comfort, daily care, and personal connections matter most.
