    Friendly staff, clean building, safe

I'm very pleased with my experience here. The staff are consistently kind, professional and attentive, the building is clean and well-maintained, meals are good and activities are engaging, and management communicates well - their COVID protocols kept residents safe. Great walkable location and amenities; I'd highly recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Brookdale Admiral Heights is described as a community with strong clinical and operational strengths alongside some facility-age and capacity limits. Families commonly emphasize the facility’s effectiveness during infectious outbreaks, a stable clinical presence, and a highly personable staff culture. That mix makes it appealing for prospective residents who prioritize safety, individualized attention, and an active social program, though some physical and logistical trade-offs surface for those seeking newer construction or larger private units.

Care and staff: Review narratives consistently highlight compassionate caregiving, an attentive nursing team, and staff who know residents by name. Clinical responsiveness and medication familiarity are noted as strengths, and the facility’s infection-control measures and vaccination efforts were effective in maintaining resident safety. Management and reception staff are described as responsive and proactive; emergency responses and family communication are typically characterized as timely and helpful.

Dining and activities: The community offers a wide range of programming — fitness classes, sing-alongs, gaming, musical performances, casino nights, and intergenerational activities — that reviewers found engaging for varied interests and energy levels. Dining is flexible, with options such as a 24-hour menu and no fixed meal times, which many families appreciated. However, there is unevenness in food quality and preparation methods across accounts, with some praising presentation and taste and others describing reheated or less appealing meals.

Facilities and amenities: The building provides a number of on-site amenities (laundry, AV/recreation rooms, hair salon, garden patio) and is in a walkable neighborhood close to theaters, stores, and restaurants. Physical critiques center on the age and size of the property: apartment units and community/dining spaces are frequently described as small or dated, and some areas appear to be undergoing updates. Accessibility is generally good for short walks, but families noted limited parking, street noise, and that a vehicle can still be needed for many outings.

Management, costs, and notable patterns: Administrative strengths include a streamlined move-in process, flexible contract options (including month-to-month), and active marketing or community engagement. Cost is above average for the area and tends to increase as residents’ care needs escalate — a point families should factor into longer-term planning. A minority of comments point to communication or billing confusion and variable upkeep in specific areas; these suggest operational processes that may benefit from continued attention as renovations and service improvements proceed.

Bottom line: Brookdale Admiral Heights presents as a community with reliable clinical care, compassionate staff, and a lively activities schedule in a convenient location. Prospective residents and families should weigh those service strengths against smaller unit sizes, constrained common spaces, and the premium cost trajectory as care needs grow. A tour focused on unit size, dining samples, parking, and current renovation status will help clarify fit for individual preferences and care plans.

    About Brookdale Admiral Heights

Brookdale Admiral Heights sits in a walkable neighborhood, near stores and restaurants, offering both independent living and assisted living under one roof, which means seniors can live on their own or get help with daily tasks like managing medication or bathing if they need it, and the staff, who know the residents by name, try to create a homelike setting for everyone, with cheerful smiles and a caring attitude that neighbors often talk about. The community has 55 licensed beds and several apartment layouts, including studios and one-bedrooms, some with kitchens or kitchenettes, and you can pick between furnished or unfurnished units, all with emergency call systems. Residents get weekly housekeeping and linen service, and all utilities and maintenance are covered in the rent, with Wi-Fi available in the rooms. Dining is a big part of Brookdale Admiral Heights, with restaurant-style meals and home-style options set in a communal dining room with an elegant touch-there's even a grand piano for anyone who wants to play, and the chefs make a point of serving nutritious meals every day.

Seniors here stay as active as they wish, joining daily activities, attending Bingo groups, trivia nights, movie showings in the on-site theater, and clubs like B-Fit classes or Nifty Knitting and Crafts, plus there are social lounges, a library, a bistro, and comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces like patios, greenhouses, and walking paths. Staff are there 24/7 for emergencies and can help with things like medication management, personal care, and monitoring health needs, while health care services like on-site medical staff, licensed in-home care, and hospice care agencies support those with greater needs. Memory care is available for those living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, and there's skilled nursing, at-home care, and continuing care retirement services for higher levels of medical attention.

There's a pet-friendly policy, a beauty and barber shop on campus, a fitness center, guest suites for visitors, transportation services, and even a community kitchen and private dining room for gatherings. Security is in place around the property, and the staff provide hands-on, personalized care in a smaller community where people can feel a sense of belonging. People can tour the community to see the rooms, try the meals, meet the staff, and join in on the activities, and many describe it as a good place for those wanting friendship, help with daily living, and easy access to everything they might need in their later years. Brookdale Admiral Heights is owned by Brookdale Senior Living, and the team works to make every day safe, comfortable, and interesting with plenty of things to do and different care options as needs change.
