Luvida Memory Care - CLOSED was an assisted living and memory care facility in Belton, Texas, with space for up to 48 residents. This place gave long-term care to seniors, especially those dealing with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, and staff stayed awake and ready to help 24 hours a day. Residents could get help with bathing, dressing, medication, transfers, and other daily needs, and staff made sure no one wandered off by using a secured building, alarmed doors, and even bracelets that set off an alarm if someone left, which was pretty helpful for people who tended to wander or act out. The building had private and semi-private rooms, with both one-bedroom suites and shared arrangements, and everything was set up to keep people safe from getting lost or confused. Meals were cooked on site every day, and staff could accommodate special diets, including diabetic, vegan, and low-sodium needs, and there were both all-day dining options and a community dining hall. Housekeeping, laundry, and dry cleaning services were included, and there were garden areas, walking paths, a barber and salon, and even transportation and parking for those who needed it.
Daily activities included social times, exercise classes, art, movie nights, trivia, stretching, and cooking classes, all meant to help people with memory problems keep up skills and enjoy their day. Spiritual services happened onsite too, and the building had both outdoor and indoor common spaces for folks to gather. The facility accepted people with mobility issues, and it could help with wheelchair use, lift transfers, and incontinence, including reminders to use the restroom. If someone needed hospice or respite care, the staff could provide that as well. Nurses and therapists visited, including podiatrists, dentists, physical, occupational, and speech therapists, and there was extra training for anyone working with dementia or memory issues. The care team managed medication, gave reminders, and monitored changes in health, coordinating with family when needed. For residents with diabetes, staff could monitor blood sugar and give insulin injections.
Luvida Memory Care - CLOSED focused on supporting people as their needs increased, so someone could start with lighter care and get more help over time without leaving, and the environment was carefully designed to reduce confusion and keep everybody safe. Because the facility has closed, those services and rooms are no longer available, but for a while, it was one of the places in Belton trying to meet the needs of people with memory difficulties in a safe, homelike setting.
