    About Britannia Place

Britannia Place sits in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood in Redwood City, California, offering care for seniors who might have conditions like Alzheimer's, dementia, arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, or other serious health issues, and with a small licensed capacity of six residents, folks get more attention and it really does feel like a family home because people know each other and caregivers can help right away with things like bathing, dressing, taking medicine, or moving around safely, and everybody eats meals together in a cozy dining room with all-day dining options, and cooks can prepare special diets for folks who have diabetes or allergies. Helpers take care of cleaning, laundry, and even dry cleaning, so residents don't have to worry about chores, and someone is always available-there's a nurse on site and on call, and doctors, podiatrists, dentists, and therapists can visit or give care as needed, and that helps residents who may be dealing with cancer, Parkinson's, stroke, or just the regular troubles that come with getting older. Britannia Place has both private and semi-private rooms, and there are indoor lounges, gardens, walking paths, and outdoor gathering spots where people can visit, do activities, garden a bit, or just get some fresh air, and there's a daily calendar with games, devotional services, group talks, parties, and also outings where transportation gets arranged by staff, with volunteer visits to keep folks company and pets allowed for those who like animals around. The staff pay attention and check in on health 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and they work with a resident's doctors and families, which helps if someone needs support with pills, medical appointments, or something comes up in the middle of the night, and they coordinate care for folks living at home, in hospitals, or in other facilities when needed. For those needing memory care, they set up routines that help reduce confusion and wandering, laying out the environment in a way that makes people feel comfortable and safe, with emergency alert systems in every room and common area, and they update care plans every six months or whenever they need to change. Folks here have cable TV, Wi-Fi, housekeeping, linen service, phone lines, and parking available, and the place doesn't allow smoking inside, but it does let in pets, and if a resident needs a short stay after surgery or while a family takes a break, respite care is offered. Respected for a caring team and a commitment to making seniors feel at home, Britannia Place provides board and care, assisted living, memory care, and independent living for those over 55 who like a small, home-like place close to hospitals, shops, and restaurants, and with everything designed to let people enjoy their day without worry, with help there when someone needs it most.
