    Compassionate staff but inconsistent care

I have a family member here long-term and overall I'm grateful - the nurses, CNAs and support teams are warm, professional and attentive (Tabatha Bordine stood out), rooms are clean and well-equipped, meals and in-room visits are available, and therapy/transportation/dietary/EVS have been helpful. That said, I witnessed staffing shortages, poor communication, occasional neglect/delays (including a delayed ER transfer) and at least one privacy/discipline concern, so care can be inconsistent. I recommend it for bounce-back therapy and many compassionate staff, but I remain cautious about reliability for all needs.

    Summary review

Overall impression from the compiled reviews of Renaissance Care Center Inc is mixed but leans positive with important and recurring caveats. Many reviewers consistently praise the frontline caregivers — nurses, CNAs, and individual staff members — describing them as compassionate, professional, warm, and treating residents like family. Multiple families reported that their loved ones received motivating, personable care that supported recovery and health improvement, and singled out specific staff for outstanding service. Allied departments including transportation, dietary, environmental services (EVS), therapy, social services, and leadership (DON/ADON) were also mentioned positively, indicating comprehensive, multidisciplinary support for residents.

Facility conditions are repeatedly highlighted as a strength. Reviews mention a clean, well-kept building with large, comfortable rooms that feel home-like. Practical comforts such as recliners and clean common areas were appreciated. Several reviewers noted visible updates and improvements to the facility and recommended it specifically for short-term rehabilitation or bounce-back therapy. Activities programming and daily engagement were also cited, suggesting residents have opportunities for stimulation and socialization during their stay.

Despite the many positive comments, there are several salient concerns that recur across reviews and warrant attention. The most serious complaints involve lapses in responsiveness and emergency handling: reviewers recount delays in acting on the need to transport a patient to the ER, including at least one account of an approved ER transfer followed by a two-hour wait outside and alleged failure to notify family. Some reviewers described instances of neglect or negligent treatment and inconsistent staffing performance—reports that staff stood around or ignored requests for assistance. There were also comments about unprofessional behavior at the nursing station (yelling) and a reported HIPAA violation. These issues point to occasional failures in clinical judgment, timeliness, staffing consistency, and privacy safeguards.

Management and organizational themes emerge as mixed. On the positive side, leadership and specific clinical leaders (DON/ADON) were credited in some reviews for good coordination and support. Conversely, a number of reviewers raised concerns about discharge practices, describing pressure to send patients home before they were ready and mentioning a misleading ADON interaction. Staff morale and resourcing also appear uneven: several comments mention labor shortages and worries about pay/recognition for direct care helpers, which could contribute to variability in care and responsiveness across shifts.

Communication is another bifurcated theme. Many families report polite, helpful, and attentive staff who communicate well and are responsive to questions. Others report poor communication—both between staff and with families—especially concerning emergencies, transfers, or discharge decisions. This variability suggests the facility delivers strong person-centered care under many circumstances but has inconsistent processes for escalation, family notification, and transition planning.

In summary, the dominant strengths of Renaissance Care Center Inc are its compassionate and professional direct care staff, clean and comfortable environment, supportive allied services, and effective short-term rehabilitation offerings. The principal risks identified by reviewers are episodic failures in timeliness and emergency response, inconsistent staffing/attention, possible privacy breaches, and concerns about discharge practices and staff recognition. Prospective residents and families may find the facility offers high-quality, warm care in many cases, but should ask targeted questions about emergency protocols, staffing levels, communication and notification procedures, and discharge planning to guard against the less frequent but serious problems described by some reviewers.
