    Excellent caregivers, poor leadership, unsafe

I moved in for the lower price and remodeled private room; I found the nurses/CNAs and most staff kind, professional, very helpful with transitions, and especially good at wound care - the place is generally clean, and therapy, dining and the hair salon are decent. Management/office turnover and maintenance are disappointing (chairs/tables falling apart, patios inaccessible during renovations, parking issues), and the food is poor with no menu options and limited activities. My biggest concern is unsafe supervision at times - missing call lights, residents left in soiled briefs or confined in wheelchairs in common areas - so I recommend cautiously: excellent caregiving staff, but leadership and safety need urgent improvement.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is mixed, with clear strengths in clinical care and some amenities but serious operational and management concerns that affect trust and safety. Multiple reviewers highlight compassionate, helpful staff and skilled caregivers — nurses and CNAs receive consistent praise and wound care is called out as especially good. Several reviewers also commended the admissions/transition assistance as professional, patient, informative, and supportive, with some explicitly recommending the facility based on that experience. Pricing is noted as reasonable and in at least one instance lower than a previous placement, which can be an important factor for families.

Facility amenities appear to be a positive point in several reviews. Private and larger remodeled rooms are appreciated, and onsite features such as a therapy room, dining room, and hair salon add convenience. The location is described as convenient. Some reviewers note that the community is clean and tidy, and that there are several activities offered. However, these positives are tempered by ongoing renovations and construction: patios are not yet accessible, renovation work is in progress, and parking has been reported as difficult because of construction-related constraints. These disruptions may temporarily reduce the usability of outdoor spaces and create logistical inconveniences for visitors.

Dining and activities receive mixed-to-negative feedback. Food quality is a recurring complaint — reviewers describe the food as poor with limited menu options. While some say the community offers several activities and rate activities as very good, others describe limited activities or a lack of ongoing programs; this suggests inconsistency in the activity programming or differences in expectations among reviewers. Prospective families should clarify current activity schedules and whether programming varies by unit or resident need.

Several operational and safety concerns stand out and are significant. Multiple reviews mention management and office issues and ongoing staffing turnover, which can undermine consistency of care and communication. More serious allegations include neglect and lack of supervision: specific reports include absence of call lights, residents confined to wheelchairs in common areas, urine on floors, full diapers left unchanged, and reports of residents having little to no water. These are serious safety and dignity issues and contrast sharply with other reviewers’ praise for nursing and wound care. Additionally, furniture maintenance issues (broken or missing parts on chairs and tables) point to lapses in environmental upkeep that impact resident comfort and safety.

Leadership concerns are explicitly raised by at least one reviewer who called the administrator incompetent and reported intimidation of a family member. Such statements, combined with reports of staffing turnover and management/office problems, suggest potential weaknesses in leadership, oversight, or complaint resolution. Renovations and construction may partially explain disruptions, but they do not account for reports of neglect, unsanitary conditions, or poor responsiveness to family concerns.

In summary, the facility demonstrates important strengths in clinical care (notably wound care), compassionate front-line staff, useful amenities (private/remodeled rooms, therapy, salon), and generally reasonable pricing. However, there are consistent, serious concerns around food quality, activity consistency, environmental maintenance, and — most importantly — safety and supervision on some shifts. Management issues and staffing turnover may be contributing factors. These mixed signals mean prospective residents and families should verify current conditions: request recent inspection or incident reports, ask about staffing levels and turnover, tour during mealtimes and activity periods, check the status and timeline of renovations, confirm availability and functionality of call systems, and speak directly with nursing leadership about supervision and hygiene practices. Addressing these questions will help determine whether the facility’s clinical strengths and amenities outweigh the operational and safety concerns reported by some reviewers.
