    About Asbury Gardens

Asbury Gardens sits in a quiet area and has served seniors since 2003, offering a mix of independent living, assisted living, supportive living, skilled nursing, memory care, and home care all on one campus with ten acres of well-kept grounds, glass-enclosed atriums connecting each wing, shady gazebos, and walking paths with garden benches and patios where people can watch birds and flowers. The community has 143 units with different floor plans like Classic studio, Deluxe studio, and one-bedroom apartments, all with large closets, balconies, private full bathrooms that are handicap accessible, kitchenettes, and emergency pull cords in each bedroom and bathroom, plus the ability for residents to control their own air temperature in the apartment, and everyone gets three meals a day served restaurant-style, with special diets being available like low-sodium or no-sugar, and the food is planned by chefs and meal planners trying to keep things nutritious. Residents, including those with small dogs or cats, enjoy spaces like an on-site library, chapel, wellness center, movie theater, salon and barber shop, café, country store with snacks and toiletries, and common areas inside and out where people gather for activities like bingo, clubs, chair yoga, stretching, art or cooking classes, fitness groups, socials, casino night, guest entertainers, outings, and religious services in the on-site chapel if they want. Staff look after medical needs day and night, with certified nursing assistants available 24 hours, nurses on staff every day of the week, and a doctor on call, with help offered for bathing, medication, getting dressed, reminders for grooming and toileting, diabetic care like blood sugar checks or insulin shots, incontinence care, post-hospital rehabilitation, pain and wound care, stroke or cardiac recovery, pharmacy services, and transportation to appointments, and the place has mechanical lifts and both one-person and two-person transfer support for folks who may need a hand getting around. The memory care section, in its own secured building, is carefully designed for people with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia, using specialized programs and trained staff, extra safety features like bracelets that alert caregivers if someone tries to leave, and activities that help promote engagement and daily routine, with added ability to accept residents who might have behavioral challenges or are prone to wandering, all under the guidelines of a certified memory care neighborhood approved by the Illinois Department of Health & Family Services Supportive Living Program. The grounds are kept nice with flowers, lawns, walkways, and courtyards, the apartments are nicely renovated with private suites for those who want more privacy, and there's always something going on thanks to a full-time activity director and wellness programs, plus weekly housekeeping and laundry included, so people can spend less time worrying about chores. Utilities come with the rent except for phone, Wi-Fi is available, there are easy-to-access laundry rooms, and guests can join residents for meals in private dining rooms. The staff have a reputation for being kind and cheerful, helping residents with social, mental, and physical activities, and services like medication management, reminders, and even home care for those living nearby, with financial assistance available through Medicaid for those worried about cost, and people can simply enjoy being part of a supportive, active, and caring community that tries to meet a range of health, social, and everyday needs.
