    Beautiful, clean, active senior community

I toured Peace Village and came away very pleased - beautiful, well-landscaped grounds with a pond and balconies, spotless renovated buildings, and a range of comfortable apartments and on-site amenities (garage parking, salon, clinic, bank). The staff were uniformly kind, attentive, and familiar with residents; the dining was excellent and there are abundant activities and outings to keep people engaged. Overall a welcoming, active community with high-quality care and services that I would recommend for many seniors.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviewers overwhelmingly highlight Peace Village's attractive campus, strong social environment, and high standard of daily living for independent residents. The community is consistently described as clean and well cared for, with landscaped grounds, pond views, and a variety of apartment styles. Many families and residents praised the friendliness and professionalism of staff, the breadth of activities, and the quality of meals served in multiple dining venues.

Care and staff: Staff and clinical teams are frequently described as caring, attentive, and knowledgeable; multiple accounts describe staff who know residents by name and provide compassionate support. Memory-care and assisted-living services are available on site and receive positive mentions for providing reliable supervision and end-of-life support in many cases. At the same time, reviewers indicate variability: some families experienced delays in responsiveness or differences in staff conduct between teams. This creates an operational pattern of inconsistent service quality that prospective families should evaluate in person.

Dining and activities: Dining receives strong, repeated praise for menu variety, presentation, and nutritional quality. Reviewers highlight formal dining options as well as casual choices, food-delivery service, and memorable signature items. The activities program is robust, with concerts, classes (arts, exercise, music), frequent outings, and well-attended social events that support an active daily life. COVID-era restrictions were noted to have temporarily impacted programming for a period, which is consistent with industrywide adjustments.

Facilities and apartments: The campus offers many conveniences — underground/inside parking, elevators, on-site salon and bank, pharmacy delivery, and routine maintenance — supporting a maintenance-free lifestyle. Apartment offerings include balconies and generous closet space in many units. However, unit features vary: many residences lack in-unit washer/dryer hookups or dishwashers (laundry is often in a common area), and some buildings or suites feel older or smaller. Mobility considerations arise from a spread-out layout and certain accessibility limitations; wheelchairs and residents with limited mobility may encounter constraints reaching some activity areas without assistance.

Management, contracts, and pricing: Peace Village operates a buy-in model with an entrance fee plus monthly charges. Reviewers praise the community value relative to higher-cost competitors, but many also call out a substantial upfront buy-in and monthly fees that may be out of reach for some households. Contract and refund provisions — specifically estate-share clauses and refund timing — have led to family frustration in a number of cases; prospective residents should request full, written pricing and refund-policy details and review contract language with counsel. A few reviewers also described administrative slowness in resolving concerns or implementing requested service changes, suggesting variable responsiveness at the leadership level.

Notable patterns and guidance: In sum, Peace Village is repeatedly recommended for its aesthetic campus, strong dining and activities, and generally compassionate staff, making it a good match for independent and socially engaged residents and for families seeking onsite clinical supports. Prospective residents should perform a focused due diligence visit: inspect apartments for in-unit amenities and accessibility, ask for specifics on staffing ratios and care protocols for assisted/memory care, request a current copy of the entrance-fee and refund contract language, and speak with current residents or families about responsiveness to concerns. These steps will help clarify whether the community’s strong operational areas align with an individual resident’s care needs and financial expectations.
