    Good rehab poor medical care

My experience was mixed. The PT/OT, dining, and many aides, nurses and the director (Michelle) were caring, hands-on, and helpful, but communication and medical responsiveness were consistently poor - delayed callbacks, unresponsive staff, safety and hygiene lapses (severe pressure injuries and a transfer to critical care) left me deeply concerned. Because of the serious nursing/medical failures despite excellent rehab and food, I cannot recommend this place; I prefer Rolling Hills.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the review summaries is mixed, with strong praise for the facility's rehabilitation services, therapy teams, dining staff, and certain caregivers, but serious concerns about inconsistent medical and nursing care, communication, and safety in some cases. Multiple reviewers highlight excellent physical and occupational therapy, noting quick rehab progress and patients returning home sooner than expected. Therapy staff, along with many nurses and aides, are repeatedly described as caring, hands-on, and hardworking. Several reviews single out the dining experience positively—mentioning great food, plentiful servings, and pleasant food service personnel—and many reviews commend the facility as clean, welcoming, and socially encouraging. The facility director (named Michelle in one review) is also specifically credited with providing supportive leadership by at least one family.

However, a subset of reviews raises serious red flags about clinical care and safety. There are detailed allegations of neglect such as patients being left in soiled conditions, development of extreme decubitus ulcers, and transfers to critical care for elevated CO2—suggesting failures in monitoring and timely medical intervention. Fall incidents, bruising, and at least one report of a death linked by the reviewer to lack of adequate care amplify these concerns. These are not isolated minor complaints; they point to potential lapses in fundamental hygiene, wound care, and medical responsiveness that families should weigh heavily.

Communication and organization emerge as additional, recurring themes. Several reviewers describe delayed callbacks, disorganized care coordination, and unresponsive social work or medical staff. While one reviewer praised social work as efficient and perceptive, others report difficulty getting timely responses or actionable information, creating stress for families. There is also mention of unprofessional behavior by some staff (including a report of a nurse vaping at the nurses' station) and interpersonal issues that undermine confidence for certain family members. At least one reviewer explicitly prefers an alternative facility (Rolling Hills) and advises moving their loved one elsewhere, underscoring the variability of experiences.

Taken together, the reviews suggest the facility has clear strengths in rehabilitation, therapy, and certain aspects of dining and social atmosphere, with many staff members lauded as compassionate and effective. Concurrently, there is a pattern of serious care and safety concerns reported by other reviewers—ranging from hygiene neglect and pressure ulcers to inadequate medical response and communication breakdowns. The overall picture is one of uneven quality: excellent rehabilitation outcomes and positive interpersonal experiences are possible, but so are critical lapses in nursing care and communication. Prospective residents and families should consider these divergent reports when evaluating the facility, asking specific questions about clinical oversight, wound care protocols, fall prevention, staff responsiveness, and how incidents are documented and addressed.
