    Compassionate staff, feels like home

I placed my mother here and couldn't be happier - the compassionate, exemplary staff and caring owner made it feel like home, she's thriving, and the team is quick to respond and truly like family. The house is clean and beautiful, but bedrooms are small (not full apartments) and there are fewer amenities than Regent for a similar price.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Grace Cottage, LLC are strongly positive and center overwhelmingly on the quality of care and the people who provide it. Multiple reviewers highlight the compassionate nature of the staff, describing caregivers as kind, compassionate, and exemplary. The facility is characterized as having a high caregiver-to-resident ratio and rapid response to needs, which reviewers attribute to personalized, attentive care and good outcomes (for example, a reviewer noting that their mother is thriving). Cleanliness and the home's aesthetic are repeatedly praised — "beautiful home" and "clean and well kept" are recurring descriptors — and the atmosphere is described as homelike, with staff that feel like family and residents who are lovely and well-cared-for. These elements combine to create a strong sense of trust and satisfaction among families and residents.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme across the reviews is the personnel and the direct care they deliver. Phrases such as "amazing staff," "compassionate care," and "exceptional care" appear multiple times, indicating consistent high marks for direct caregiving. The high caregiver-to-resident ratio and reviewers' observations of quick responses suggest staffing levels and responsiveness are strengths that enable more individualized attention. Reviewers also call out management and ownership in a positive light — describing the owner as caring and truthful about a resident's condition — which reinforces a perception of transparency and accountability. The combination of attentive caregivers and forthright management contributes to trust and a family-like culture noted in the reviews.

Facilities and environment: Grace Cottage is consistently described as a beautiful, clean, and well-maintained home that "feels like home." That homelike character appears to be an important selling point for reviewers, who value a small, comfortable environment over a larger institutional feel. The resident population is described warmly ("lovely residents"), which supports a pleasant social environment. However, the physical accommodations are not described as large or luxurious; specifically, multiple reviewers note that bedrooms are small and not full apartments. The facility's smaller scale seems to underpin much of its charm and the close staff-resident relationships, but it also sets expectations about space and amenities.

Value and comparative concerns: A consistent concern in the reviews is a value comparison to a facility named Regent. Reviewers state that Grace Cottage offers fewer amenities than Regent while charging a similar price. This raises a potential value issue for prospective residents/families who prioritize amenities or apartment-style living. The critiques are specific: smaller private living spaces and fewer amenities relative to a comparable competitor. For decision-making, families should weigh the tradeoff between the high-touch, homelike care emphasized by reviewers and the comparative lack of amenities or larger private units that other facilities may offer.

Activities, dining, and other services: Reviews do not provide detailed or repeated comments about dining, scheduled activities, medical services, or therapies. The emphasis is primarily on personal care, staff responsiveness, cleanliness, and the home's atmosphere. The absence of commentary on dining or structured activities suggests these either meet expectations without standing out or that reviewers prioritized reporting on interpersonal and environmental strengths. Prospective families who consider activities, dining, or specialized services important should request specifics and confirmations from the facility during tours.

Summary assessment: In sum, Grace Cottage, LLC appears to excel at delivering compassionate, attentive, and personalized care within a clean, homelike setting. Staff and management receive uniformly high praise for responsiveness, honesty, and a family-like approach. The primary tradeoffs noted are the relatively small private spaces and fewer amenities compared with a named competitor (Regent), combined with pricing that reviewers say is similar to that competitor. For families seeking strong day-to-day caregiving in a small, welcoming environment, reviewers consistently recommend Grace Cottage. For those who prioritize apartment-style living or a wider range of onsite amenities, the comparative value should be examined carefully during a visit.

    About Grace Cottage, LLC

Grace Cottage, LLC sits at 531 N Crestline St in Wichita, Kansas, and looks after people who need assisted living, memory care, nursing home care, independent living, and short-term stays, with only eight assisted living units so folks get plenty of attention. The place welcomes small pets and has one-bedroom units, studios, and shared rooms, which gives people some choices. There's a warm, supportive feeling here, a real sense that they want everyone to feel at home, and they say their community-focused way of doing things matters. Staff offer help around-the-clock, including with transfers, bathing, dressing, and medication, and they've got trained staff like RN/LPNs, certified nursing assistants, and people with BSW qualifications who know how to help with meals, medications, and daily needs, plus they're trained to support social engagement.

Meals support special diets with a staff dietitian looking over meal planning, and there's a dementia-friendly menu alongside nutritious choices, whether someone eats in the private dining room, café, or with help. The wellness center, massage therapy, walking trails, and arts and crafts activities all try to keep people moving and interested, and folks get access to on-site physical therapy, health monitoring, and special help if they have Parkinson's disease or other high needs. Grace Cottage, LLC offers 24-hour emergency response, transportation, home health services, tailored care plans, help at mealtimes and with personal care, and a client-to-caregiver ratio of 1:4, which means people don't have to wait long for a helping hand.

The place has a safe, loving, and comfortable home atmosphere, meant to support everyone's dignity and independence, but also providing supervision every hour of the day. Staff coordinate with healthcare providers and keep a focus on individual needs, saying they want to make sure everyone gets a good quality of life. Regina Lehman, an RN with a BSN, leads the care as Owner and Director of Nursing, and the home carries a legacy linked to Victor Russo and Regina's combined vision, expanding in 2020 to welcome more folks into their care. You can find people talking and laughing, getting involved in regular activities designed for well-being, and, if needed, getting special support for higher care needs or memory loss. Service hours run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with care staff always available, and the team seems to take a lot of pride in the attention and respect they offer.
