    Compassionate clean professional reassuring care

I placed my loved one here and feel confident in the care. The staff are compassionate, professional and friendly, and the residents are very positive. The facility is spotless, pleasantly decorated with no odors, the food looks good, and a stocked snack/drink cart for family is a nice touch. Visitor temperature checks and mask rules gave me peace of mind, and their end-of-life care was compassionate.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The review summaries for Winfield Rest Haven Inc are overwhelmingly positive. Multiple reviewers highlight the staff as the strongest asset—describing them as helpful, friendly, compassionate, and happy—while repeatedly affirming a high standard of care. Cleanliness and a pleasant environment are also consistent themes; reviewers specifically mentioned pleasing decor and the absence of any nasty smells, contributing to an overall sense of a well-maintained facility.

Care quality and staff: Reviews consistently praise both the quality of care and the caregivers. Comments reference compassionate attention and competency, including end-of-life care, which suggests staff are experienced and comfortable handling sensitive, advanced-care situations. The repeated use of words like "helpful," "caring," and "wonderful" for staff, paired with reviewers feeling "comfortable placing a loved one," indicates strong trust in the caregiving team and their approachability.

Facilities and cleanliness: Facility-related comments emphasize a clean, pleasant atmosphere and tasteful decoration. Several reviewers explicitly note the lack of unpleasant odors, which is an important indicator of routine housekeeping and infection-control attention. The descriptors "very clean atmosphere," "pleasantly decorated," and "great facility" paint a consistent picture of a facility that is cared for and presents well to guests and families.

Dining and family amenities: Dining impressions are positive—food is noted as looking good—and family-focused touches stand out, such as a stocked snack and drink cart for relatives. That amenity suggests attention to family comfort and small, thoughtful services that improve the experience for visitors and relatives who spend time at the facility.

Management and safety protocols: Reviewers mention professional management and church ownership, which may appeal to families seeking a faith-based setting or a facility with a clearly defined mission and governance. Safety protocols are noted (visitor temperature checks and a mask requirement), reflecting measures to protect residents and visitors—this can be reassuring to families, particularly in times when infectious disease precautions matter.

Community and atmosphere: Multiple reviewers emphasize positive interactions among residents and describe them as "awesome" or "very positive people." The combined impressions of kind residents and friendly staff indicate a warm, social community environment rather than an isolated or clinical one.

Notable patterns and gaps: The dominant patterns are staff excellence, cleanliness, safety measures, and family-oriented amenities. There are virtually no negative comments in the provided summaries; reviewers do not raise concerns about safety lapses, staffing shortages, care neglect, or financial issues. That said, the summaries do not supply details on some operational aspects: there is little information about structured activities or therapy programs, staffing ratios or credentials, medication management specifics, accessibility provisions, or costs. These gaps are not criticisms but are areas where additional information would be useful for families making comparisons or more detailed assessments.

Conclusion: Based on the review excerpts, Winfield Rest Haven Inc projects a highly favorable reputation characterized by compassionate, reliable staff, a clean and comfortable facility, meaningful family amenities, and prudent safety practices. The presence of professional management and a church-owned identity further reinforces a stable, mission-driven environment. Prospective families should find these reviews reassuring, while those seeking greater detail about clinical staffing, activity programming, or costs may want to request that specific information directly from the facility.

    About Winfield Rest Haven Inc

Winfield Rest Haven Inc has been serving seniors since 1963 and sits quietly next to Cherry Street Park in Winfield, Kansas, where George and Frances Blake donated the land for the home all those years ago, and over six decades it's grown into a nonprofit community for older adults who need nursing care, independent living, respite care, or even memory care for people with dementia and Alzheimer's, and the place stays busy with programs that teach residents how to spot online scams, avoid charity fraud, and keep their information safe so everyone can give and support causes without worry, and the staff, like the administrator Dereck Hutchison and directors for nursing, activities, rehabilitation, and food, work together to keep the home running smoothly, with medical records, business, and environmental departments working behind the scenes. Winfield Rest Haven Inc has a Veterans & Military Assistance Fund, an End Homelessness Fund, a Climate Change Fund, a Beneficiary Voices Fund, and an Animal Welfare Fund, besides taking part in helping during disaster relief campaigns like the Central Texas Flooding, tornadoes in the Midwest, and humanitarian efforts in places such as Israel, Gaza, and Ukraine, really showing they care about people both inside and outside the home's walls. They offer skilled nursing care, long-term living, rehabilitation with occupational, speech, and physical therapy, and assistance with daily life, plus memory care and senior activities, and there are apartments and outdoor spaces for fresh air, along with transportation if someone needs to get to the doctor or into town. There's a sense that the people living here are part of a community that tries to do the right thing and help others, and while the home isn't BBB accredited and suggests checking all licensing as needed, it's been managed thoughtfully for over 61 years, always focusing on the health, safety, and engagement of residents and welcoming folks who value a steady, caring place tucked away in a peaceful corner of town.
