    Wonderful community, marred by staff

My parents have been very happy here for 20 years - it's a gated, tree-rich community with well-kept common areas (clubhouse, pool, hot tub, tennis courts, putting green, walking trails) and protected wetlands. Friendly staff (and the security booth's "Mr. Spock") and lots of activities make for a pleasant atmosphere. However, one rude, sassy staff member with a disrespectful attitude has soured our experience; until that's addressed, I can't recommend it for long-term residency.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Heritage Hills Association is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing excellent grounds, abundant amenities, and a pleasant, active community. The property is repeatedly described as well-maintained and large, with many outdoor and recreational features that appeal to residents: a clubhouse, pool and hot tub, tennis courts, a putting green, and extensive walking trails. The setting is noted as tree-rich with protected wetlands, which reviewers cite as contributing to an attractive, park-like environment and a sense of conservation-minded community planning.

Community life and programming are highlighted as strengths. Several reviewers point to a lively schedule of activities and a pleasant atmosphere, and at least one comment explicitly calls out the amount of activities available. Long-term residency is a meaningful signal: a mention of a 20-year resident and "very happy parents" indicates stability and sustained satisfaction among some families. The presence of a gated entry and a staffed security booth (one reviewer even nicknamed the attendant "Mr. Spock") contributes to perceptions of safety and organized site management.

Staff impressions are mostly favorable but not uniformly so. Multiple summaries note friendly staff, which aligns with the positive community vibe and the active programming. However, there is a conspicuous negative thread: one or more reviewers describe an isolated but strong negative interaction with a staff member characterized as rude, sassy, impolite, or disrespectful. That incident(s) appears to have been memorable enough for at least one reviewer to say they would not recommend the community. Taken together, the pattern suggests generally good frontline hospitality and responsiveness but with the risk of occasional staff attitude problems that can significantly affect individual impressions.

There is limited specific information about clinical care, dining, or management practices beyond property upkeep and security; however, the longevity of some residents and the repeated praise for maintenance and activities imply a well-run community overall. The protected wetlands and large, tree-rich site indicate planning and investment in the physical environment. Management's strengths appear to include groundskeeping, amenities maintenance, and activity programming. A potential area for improvement is staff training or oversight to prevent the types of negative interactions mentioned.

In summary, Heritage Hills Association presents as a desirable, well-appointed senior living community with strong outdoor amenities, active programming, and evidence of long-term resident satisfaction. The most significant concern raised in the reviews is an isolated but impactful instance (or instances) of poor staff behavior; prospective residents or families may wish to ask management about staff training, complaint resolution procedures, and whether such incidents are recurring or have been addressed. Overall, the reviews lean heavily positive, with maintenance, amenities, security, and community life being the most consistently praised features.

The social life is lively, with a full-time Manager and Director of Activities planning things like bingo, bridge, euchre, poker, crafts, fitness classes, sewing groups, and book discussions, plus themed parties and outings to places like theaters and attractions using the community's 14-passenger bus, so there's always something to join in, and the clubhouse brings neighbors together for meals, games, movie nights, and card games. Dining's easy with all-day, restaurant-style meals made by professional chefs, including options for diabetes or allergies, and you can always join in for pool exercise, bocce, tennis, card groups, or just a walk through the trails by about 100 acres of protected wetlands full of birds and wildflowers. The streets are well lit, it's handy for strolling, and you'll find lawn mowing and snow removal taken care of so it's less to worry about, and overall, Heritage Hills keeps a neighborhood feeling where it's easy to make friends and find company, with amenities focused on both care and keeping folks active and connected as they want to be.
