    Happy long-term resident, excellent staff

I've been a long-term resident and I'm very happy - the staff are great, friendly, supportive and hospitable, the facility is spotless, the masculine atmosphere suits me, and they respectfully recognized my service as a Marine.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the provided reviews for Fiddler's Green Senior Community is strongly positive. Reviewers repeatedly praise the staff, describing them as great, very friendly, and hospitable. Cleanliness is another clear strength mentioned: multiple reviewers note that the community is "very clean." These two themes — attentive, pleasant staff and well-maintained facilities — form the backbone of the positive impressions reported.

Care quality and support appear to be perceived as high. Although the reviews do not provide clinical details, the repeated mentions of "service, support, hospitality," and residents being "very happy" imply that day-to-day care and resident support meet or exceed expectations for those who commented. The frequent reference to long-term residency further supports the interpretation that residents are satisfied over time; long-term stays suggest good retention and an environment where people choose to remain.

Staffing and culture are prominent themes. The community is described as having a masculine atmosphere and specific recognition for a reviewer who is a Marine. This indicates that Fiddler's Green may have a culture or social environment that resonates well with male residents and veterans, and that staff make an effort to acknowledge and honor military service. Such recognition can be an important quality-of-life factor for veterans and contributes to the positive interpersonal environment noted in the reviews.

Facilities are characterized primarily by cleanliness; beyond that, reviewers emphasize hospitality and friendly interactions rather than detailing amenities, dining, or activities. Because the supplied reviews focus on staff demeanor, cleanliness, and veteran recognition, there is limited specific information about dining quality, scheduled activities, medical or clinical services, management practices, or responsiveness to complaints. The absence of negative comments in the provided summaries is notable, but it also means there is limited visibility into potential areas for improvement.

Notable patterns and limitations: the reviews consistently highlight staff, cleanliness, and a veteran-friendly, masculine atmosphere, which are clear strengths. However, the sample lacks specifics on dining, recreational programming, medical care, pricing, and administrative responsiveness. The positive tone and long-term residency suggest overall satisfaction, but a fuller assessment would require additional reviews covering those other domains or direct inquiries. In summary, based on the available summaries, Fiddler's Green Senior Community presents as a clean, well-staffed, veteran-acknowledging community with strong hospitality and high resident satisfaction; there is insufficient information in these summaries to evaluate dining, activities, clinical care, or management in detail.

    About Fiddler's Green Senior Community

Fiddler's Green Senior Community in Bad Axe has been providing housing to senior veterans for five years. However, due to a lack of tenants, the facility is expected to close its doors on August 1st. The decision to close was a difficult one, driven by economic conditions such as high inflation and the trend of families choosing to keep their elderly loved ones at home rather than in a retirement home.

The closure of Fiddler's Green is not uncommon, as senior homes across the country are facing similar challenges. The senior home industry is feeling the impact of economic hardships, with facilities like Fiddler's Green needing a certain number of tenants to remain viable. Despite the closure, there is hope for the future, as management at Fiddler's Green is aiming to reopen at some point down the line.

In the meantime, current tenants at Fiddler's Green will be transferred to different facilities, leaving the building vacant. The fate of the building itself is uncertain, with possibilities including leasing or selling the property. The Bad Axe location was part of a dream to provide housing for veterans without a place to live, but unfortunately, the challenges of the times have led to its closure. The impact of the pandemic also played a role, with struggles to add new occupants during that time.
