    Bright home-like community, caring staff

I'm very pleased with this bright, home-like community - clean, colorful, and positive. The staff are friendly and caring (the manager is a sweetheart), attentive with individualized care including med management, bathing/dressing, hygiene, helpful activities, and very good meals often delivered to my room. They can be short-staffed at times and follow-up/communication is slow, but overall I feel confident in the care and would recommend it.

About Cranberry Park of Clio Transitional Care

Cranberry Park of Clio Transitional Care sits at 1338 W. Vienna Road in Clio, Michigan and serves up to 20 adult residents-including folks with Alzheimer's, physical disabilities, or those simply in need of daily help-and you'll notice right away the hallways are bright and cheerful, and the place aims for a warm, homely feel that tries to make people comfortable and settled rather than feeling like they're stuck in an institution. The staff here really tries to be caring and attentive, though there can be the usual bumps with staffing numbers sometimes, but they do their best to help residents stay happy and safe, plus you'll see folks get help with things like medication, bathing, dressing, and any of those everyday things that can get tricky over time. There are private rooms, and people get emergency response systems for peace of mind, and you'll find a kitchen crew here that prepares meals residents tend to appreciate, and those meals can be tailored for different diets like when someone needs diabetic care or has dietary restrictions.

The place runs both assisted living and independent living services, and they have a memory care unit with secure doors and wander guard systems for residents who tend to wander, which is common with dementia, plus individualized care plans so folks get what they need for their own situation, and the health team keeps an eye on things so nothing important slips by. You'll find indoor common areas where people spend time together, activities both on site and off site-including devotional get-togethers and even field trips when possible-and the schedule has things each day to keep minds and bodies busy, since being around others helps fight loneliness and keeps the days interesting. There's an enclosed courtyard for folks who want some fresh air but need a safe spot, plus a garden, and salon services on site so people don't have to go out for a haircut. They also offer transportation for doctor's appointments and errands, so even those who don't drive anymore don't lose touch with the outside world.

Residents can bring pets, and WiFi lets them stay connected too, whether it's for family chats or just watching favorite shows; meals get served in common dining areas so people can catch up with neighbors, and the staff organizes special events to encourage friendship and activity. You'll notice the facility is kept clean, and visitors have said so in their reviews, and there's a pretty strong 4.6 out of 5 rating from families and residents about the general experience. The location is close to stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and even outdoor spots like golf courses and lakes, plus hospitals are nearby for added assurance. The building also features rooms that feel like home and takes extra steps for safety-like medical alert systems and secure spaces for memory care-so folks can maintain independence as much as possible, with help always nearby if needed, whether that means physical therapy, help with daily routines, or simple companionship. The emphasis is on providing what folks need at different stages, being a steady presence, and making sure the place feels more like a community than a medical center.
