    About A & M

A & M was a small adult foster care home licensed for six residents at 11328 N. Bray Rd., Clio, Michigan, offering assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and independent living all under one roof, and although the facility closed as of January 31, 2023, it was set up in a ranch-style house with four bedrooms and private or semi-private baths, including wheelchair accessible showers and a family room with a fireplace and ramp, and the building had a garden, walking paths, a covered porch, and both indoor and outdoor common areas where people could relax or participate in activities made for seniors' physical and mental wellness, like movie nights, on-site cookouts, and social events, with the public transit being nearby for community outings. The care team at A & M focused on personalized support, providing 24-hour supervision, help with bathing, dressing, grooming, transfers, medication management, and meal preparation, with dishes that could be vegetarian, kosher, allergy-sensitive, or made for diabetes and other health needs, and the dining area was spacious for group meals. A & M staff was trained for managing diabetes, incontinence, high-acuity memory care, complex or behavioral challenges, and could handle residents with physical handicaps, Alzheimer's, wandering risks, or people who might act out. They worked with healthcare professionals and arranged transportation for medical visits, while on-site services brought in nurses, therapists, and podiatrists. The house gave easy access with ramps, wide doors, accessible appliances, and a wander alert system for safety, and there were move-in teams to help new residents settle in and housekeeping and laundry services to keep things neat. Each room had telephone and internet, emergency alerts, and some had private baths, and the community offered options for respite care, hospice care, or short-term stays if needed. A & M set up care plans based on each resident and kept things homey and comfortable, focusing on steady supervision, planning advice, and amenities like resident parking, social activities, and even beautician visits on-site.
