    About Butternut Tree Assisted Living

Butternut Tree Assisted Living sits in a quiet, shady neighborhood on Butternut Tree Court in Flint, Michigan, with only six residents living there at a time so everyone gets attention and help when they need it. Owners Marty and Bonnie are involved in the daily care and they work with qualified, screened, and caring staff to make sure each person feels like family. The building is set up like an upscale home with ADA-compliant bathrooms, emergency pull cords, and private laundry in the units. You can choose from a studio, single-bedroom, or even a two-bedroom apartment, each with all the usual appliances, cable TV, internet, and washers and dryers. Residents have private space but there's also a dining hall, a big balcony if you want to sit outside, and outdoor garden areas. Staff helps with all kinds of daily needs: bathing, dressing, mobility, eating, toileting, and medication. Folks can get help with diabetes care, special diets like vegetarian or pureed food, and there are menus from the chef with meals served in the dining area, and sometimes special parties for holidays or occasions too. The place has activities every day, whether you're wanting arts and crafts, education programs, games in the activity room, or just to relax in the theater or library and reading section. Some enjoy using the computers, using the Wi-Fi, or calling loved ones from their rooms, and there's transportation to doctor visits or other medical appointments. Residents can get personal care and moving assistance if needed, and the house is set up with safety features like sprinkler systems and monitored security, especially for those needing memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia. Staff work with each resident and their loved ones on individual care plans, and if somebody needs help moving in or getting around, that's sorted out too. Folks living at Butternut Tree Assisted Living have all kinds of backgrounds and care needs, and the home offers different levels of support, from independent living to long-term skilled nursing and hospice care, including short-term respite and adult day services. There's a sense of routine and a focus on socializing and kindness, with meals, social activities, fitness, and even massage services sometimes. Owners and staff try to send photos and updates to families so everyone knows how their loved ones are doing. With only a small number of residents, everyone knows each other, and the place has a home-like, comfortable feel, surrounded by trees in a friendly part of Flint Township.
