    Compassionate staff, spotless home-like facility

I'm so grateful for this small, home-like facility - the staff are exceptional, kind and professional (owner and RN available, aides awesome), and they truly cared for my loved one through his final days. The house is spotless and well-kept, with home-cooked meals, regular laundry, a welcoming dining table and engaging activities (bingo, movies, arts & crafts, outdoor games) that even brought him out of his shell. High staff-to-resident ratio, reasonable price and compassionate care - I highly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on high-quality, compassionate caregiving in a small, home-like setting. Reviewers consistently highlight the facility’s small scale, which appears to foster a family atmosphere and closer staff attention. The presence of a Registered Nurse on-site 24 hours and a nurse-owned model were specifically called out as important strengths, suggesting solid clinical oversight and an ability to respond to health needs promptly.

Staff performance is the most celebrated theme. Multiple summaries mention the owner’s accessibility and outstanding leadership, and describe aides and nurses as compassionate, well-qualified, and professional. Reviewers attribute tangible improvements in residents’ wellbeing to staff efforts (for example, bringing a resident out of their shell and providing exceptional care in final days). Several comments note staff pride in their work, strong support to families, and good communication, indicating both resident-centered care and family inclusion.

Facilities and housekeeping receive uniformly positive remarks. The home is described as very clean, well-kept, and festive, with frequent decorations and celebrations that contribute to a welcoming atmosphere. Practical caregiving details are noted: sheets are changed regularly, laundry is provided for residents, and common spaces (including a large communal dining table) are emphasized as fostering social interaction. Reviewers repeatedly call the environment “homey” or “right-at-home,” reinforcing the sense of comfort and personalization compared to larger institutional settings.

Dining is generally viewed positively—meals are included and described as home-cooked—but at least one reviewer characterized the food as merely “okay,” which suggests variability in meal satisfaction. The dining setup (large table, communal meals) is a recurring plus for socialization, but food quality could be an area for occasional improvement according to some feedback.

Activity programming is mixed in the summaries. Multiple reviewers list specific activities such as bingo, movie nights, arts and crafts, and outdoor ball, and others praise festive events and celebrations. However, a few reviewers mention limited activities overall, so while there are regular social and recreational options, the breadth and frequency may not meet every resident’s expectations. Related to clinical services, some care—such as physical therapy and other professional services—is provided by visiting professionals rather than being fully in-house; reviewers note this arrangement factually, which may reflect typical practice for a smaller facility but could be important for families seeking more extensive on-site therapy options.

Value and pricing are mentioned favorably; reviewers call the facility reasonably priced and good value, which, combined with high staff attention and cleanliness, makes it attractive for those seeking affordable assisted living with strong personal care. Several reviewers specifically recommend the facility and express gratitude for support during difficult times, including end-of-life care, indicating trust and satisfaction from families.

In summary, Maple Place Assisted Living is portrayed as a small, nurse-run, and family-oriented facility with excellent, compassionate staff, strong cleanliness and housekeeping practices, included home-style meals, and a supportive atmosphere for both residents and families. Areas to watch are occasional comments about limited activities and mixed impressions of food quality, as well as reliance on visiting professionals for some therapy services. For families prioritizing personalized care, clinical oversight (RN 24/7), and a homelike environment, the reviews suggest Maple Place is a very good option. For those needing extensive in-house therapy programs or a wide range of activity offerings, it may be worth asking specific questions during a tour to confirm fit.

    About Maple Place Assisted Living

Maple Place Assisted Living, also known as Maple Place Afc, sits right at 1132 E Maple Ave in Flint, Michigan, and you'll find it offers assisted living, independent living, memory care, and respite care all in a small, home-like setting that takes in about 10 to 13 residents at a time, which makes for a more personal touch, since staff can get to know everyone's ways and needs instead of always rushing around for a bigger crowd. There's a Registered Nurse who owns and manages the place, brings a long history in hospice care, and makes sure there's 24-hour supervision, so folks always have someone near if they need anything, whether it's taking medicine, getting a hand up, help to dress, a walk around the landscaped paths, or just friendly company, and the staff always come across as helpful and kind, never cold.

You'll see it's got a home-centered way about it, with two wings fixed up from what was once a traditional house, rooms made more cozy than grand, daily routines to keep life steady, and living areas where folks can gather-especially the big dining table, where everyone can sit together for meals and talk. They do a good job with meals, fixing up one or two full prepared meals every day, making sure it suits special diets like for folks with diabetes, and watching out for each person's health. There's laundry and linen service, so no one has to fuss about washing up towels or clothes, and staff keep everything fresh and tidy, which keeps it inviting and comfortable.

For care, they can help with all the basics-bathing, dressing, bathroom needs, or taking the right medicines at the right time, and they'll stay in touch with doctors or nurses if needed. They don't mind if you only need a little watchful eye or if you need daily support and medical routines, and they do it all in a way that doesn't make a person feel fenced in. Folks who stay just a while for respite care will get the same kind attention and support, so family caregivers can take a break knowing their loved ones are well cared for.

What stands out is the memory care program-it's built for residents who live with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, and staff put effort into reducing confusion and stopping wandering, which helps families feel at ease. The atmosphere leans into warmth and family, not just rules or schedules, so people feel at home. Social activities run daily, with bingo, movies, crafts, yard time, and shared meals that encourage talking and friendship-plus community-sponsored events give people something different to look forward to, and it keeps spirits up.

Maple Place Assisted Living also offers choices for those who want more independence but still desire the security and comfort of a community. Residents can enjoy the quiet of their own space and join in on activities as much or as little as they want, with less worry about daily chores like cleaning or cooking. The building is easy to navigate, with secure areas and features to help folks with memory troubles stay safe, and there's a barber-salon on site for easy grooming. Family members get updates and resources to stay involved, and the staff welcome questions, with an option for team members to update important information.

You'll find Maple Place Assisted Living keeps its doors open to seniors from many walks of life, providing choices for living arrangements, care needs, and social experiences, and always trying to make sure each resident feels valued and respected in a place that looks and feels like home. This community has won awards like Best of Senior Living for its care and quality, and most folks say the staff's friendliness and the warm, straightforward approach is what keeps spirits up and families satisfied.
