    Peaceful caring Christian-based senior home

I'm extremely happy with this small, Christian-based senior home - it's peaceful, clean, safe and feels like home. The staff are wonderful: caring, responsive (even after-hours), give one-on-one attention, go above and beyond, and provide great home-cooked, customizable meals plus lots of activities and outings. My only issue was occasional unresponsiveness from the facility manager.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment from the collected reviews is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers describing Lakeshore Assisted Living Homes as clean, home-like, and well run. The most frequent praise centers on the quality of staff and the personal attention residents receive: several reviewers specifically highlight caring staff, one-on-one attention, staff who go above and beyond, and strong bonds between staff and residents. Many comments portray the facility as small and peaceful, which contributes to an at-home feeling and a sense of safety and comfort for residents.

Care quality and staffing emerge as primary strengths in the reviews. Multiple summaries call out “awesome care,” “great staff,” and indicate that residents and families are “extremely happy” with the level of care. Reviewers also note responsiveness outside normal hours, suggesting good after-hours support. That said, there is a notable negative outlier: one reviewer describes the facility as “terrible,” says care is ‘‘awful,’’ and reports no response from the facility manager. This single but strong negative comment creates a contrast with the otherwise favorable reports and suggests potential variability in individual experiences or an isolated management/communication failure.

Facility, dining, and atmosphere receive consistently positive remarks. Reviewers describe the environment as clean and homey, emphasizing home-cooked meals and the ability to customize menu options. The Christian-based orientation is explicitly mentioned by more than one reviewer, indicating that the facility’s religious character is a visible and possibly meaningful aspect for some families. The small size is cited as a benefit—allowing more personal attention and a peaceful, residential feeling rather than an institutional one.

Activities and engagement are strengths highlighted across reviews. The facility offers a range of social and recreational programming (bingo, card games, structured exercise), as well as outings such as park trips and movie outings. Reviewers generally portray the activity offerings as plentiful and well-suited to resident engagement, supporting socialization and physical activity.

Management and access show mixed feedback. Several reviewers praise easy entry during business hours and responsive staff, but the single report of no response from the facility manager and ‘‘awful’’ care stands in direct conflict with the majority view. That inconsistency is the most salient concern across the reviews: while many describe reliable staff and responsiveness, at least one account indicates a serious lapse in communication or oversight. This pattern suggests generally good day-to-day operations with a possible risk of isolated incidents or management responsiveness issues.

In summary, the dominant themes are positive: attentive, caring staff; clean, home-like surroundings; home-cooked and customizable meals; a variety of activities and outings; and a small, peaceful environment that fosters strong staff–resident relationships. The most significant negative signal is a single, strong complaint about poor care and lack of managerial response, which contrasts sharply with the overall praise. The reviews portray Lakeshore Assisted Living Homes as an excellent, well-liked facility for many residents, with the caveat that there may be occasional or isolated problems related to management communication or specific incidents that prospective residents and families might wish to inquire about directly.
