    Clean affordable friendly occasional unprofessionalism

I live here and my family and I are happy - the building is well managed, clean, secure and homey, the apartments and grounds (love the pond) are nicely maintained, activities are plentiful, and rent is affordable. Staff like Gary and Sandy have been helpful and friendly and my mom/grandma really likes it, but I'm troubled by occasional unprofessional behavior (weight-shaming and public humiliation) that management should address. Overall a good, accommodating option that I would recommend with that caveat.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the provided reviews for Ambrose Ridge is predominantly positive, with multiple reviewers highlighting the facility as clean, well maintained, and homey. Residents and family members frequently state that their loved ones are happy living there. Common positive descriptors include "lovely facility," "nice place," and "homey and warm environment." The property is repeatedly praised for being well kept and safe, and reviewers emphasize that it meets residents' needs while offering good value and affordable rent.

Staff receive a majority of positive comments: many reviews describe staff as accommodating, professional, friendly, and helpful. Specific staff members (Gary and Sandy) are named as helpful in at least one summary, and relatives report feeling that the staff are responsive to residents' needs. These comments suggest that day-to-day care and interpersonal interactions are strengths for Ambrose Ridge in most cases. Several reviewers explicitly say they would recommend the community and that residents "love living here" or are "happy to live here."

Facilities and activities are also strong points. The property is described as nicely maintained and clean, with pleasant outdoor features such as a pond with geese and ducks that contribute to a warm, home-like atmosphere. Activities are mentioned repeatedly — described as numerous and fun — indicating an active social program that contributes to resident satisfaction. Apartments are noted as nice, and the overall environment is characterized as safe and secure.

However, there is a significant and recurring concern that must be taken seriously: at least one review reports staff misconduct involving weight‑shaming, public humiliation, and insensitivity. These allegations describe unprofessional behavior that directly conflicts with the otherwise positive reports about staff. While most reviewers praise staff professionalism, the presence of these serious accusations points to inconsistency in staff conduct and suggests that isolated but impactful incidents have occurred. Such behavior, if accurate, would undermine resident dignity and trust and should be investigated and addressed promptly by management.

Management and oversight appear competent when looking at the majority of feedback — reviewers call the community well managed and highlight cleanliness and upkeep. Still, the contrasting reports about staff behavior indicate a need for stronger, consistent staff training and clearer mechanisms for reporting and resolving complaints. Recommended actions based on this pattern are: document and investigate the reported incidents, ensure staff receive targeted training on respectful communication and resident dignity, and communicate transparently with residents and families about how complaints are handled. In summary, Ambrose Ridge shows many strengths in facilities, programming, affordability, and general staff helpfulness, but the facility would benefit from addressing the specific, serious allegations of unprofessional conduct to ensure a uniformly positive experience for all residents.

    About Ambrose Ridge

Ambrose Ridge sits in a quiet spot built back in 1996 and offers a laid-back and friendly setting where folks seem to feel at home and like they're part of things, and there's a real sense of peace to the whole property, with green gardens, plenty of shade from the trees, and neat landscaping all around, so you'll sometimes see people outside watching birds, feeding squirrels, or just relaxing while they look at the trees and gardens. The community has 84 apartments, including 52 one-bedroom and 32 two-bedroom units and some with balconies, and the apartments come with a refrigerator, stove, garbage disposal, and central air conditioning, with laundry rooms on each floor plus washers and dryers available, pull cords for emergencies in each unit, cable TV hookups, and extra storage space right in the building. Some residents get covered carports since there are 40 spots to use. Assigned parking is provided.

Ambrose Ridge focuses on assisted living and independent living, serving older folks who want to live on their own but may need help with tasks like bathing, dressing, or getting around. It doesn't mention memory care or special health programs, but it does have emergency pull cords, safety features, an elevator, laundry and dry cleaning services, and handicap-accessible amenities. Residents can get personal care from assistants, participation in regular wellness, education, and social programs, and there are always arts, crafts, bingo, movie nights, potlucks, birthday parties, community barbecues, and game nights scheduled, so there's a good mix of planned activities and spontaneous neighborly visits. There are two community rooms, a game or activity room, guest parking for visiting family, wifi in common areas, a dining room, library, fitness center, salon and craft room, and even a room where folks can exercise together. Meals are offered, and residents with cars have covered parking and easy access to trash and mail rooms indoors.

Units range from studios and single rooms up to larger two-bedroom spaces, measuring between 588 and 836 square feet. Some apartments have balconies for extra fresh air and bird watching. The whole building got a top-to-bottom renovation with new HVAC, elevators, roofs, mechanical systems, doors, and modern interiors, so things run smoothly and feel up to date for everyone living there. Ambrose Ridge is pet-friendly, but it doesn't say what types or sizes of pets are allowed. Staff are around from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Thursday, and transportation is available when needed. There's no mention of utilities included or detailed descriptions of the fees, but maintenance and housekeeping are part of the package. The common areas, gardens, and the presence of wooded spots nearby give people a chance to enjoy a little more of the outdoors, and with covered carports, bird baths, and social spaces, it's got the basics covered with comfort and care in mind. Ambrose Ridge has earned strong reviews and seems to attract people looking for peace, friendly faces, and services to support daily living without feeling too busy or overwhelming.
