    About Whispering Woods Retirement Village

Whispering Woods Retirement Village sits on quiet, wooded ground with gardens and patios where residents can relax and enjoy the outdoors, and the community covers many needs all in one place, with independent living, assisted living, and memory care services, offering different support as residents' needs change so folks can stay in the same place as they age. The property has elevator access, a store, a salon and barbershop, common areas inside and out, walking paths, a dining room, a media room with comfy chairs, and suites that people can personalize with their own things if they want, available in floor plans for studios, one- or two-bedroom, private, or companion living, all with central A/C, in-room cable TV, washers and dryers, and kitchenettes.

Residents get help with meals and nutrition, and the dining programs include options for specialized diets like vegetarian, kosher, gluten-free, low sodium, diabetic, and vegan choices, and you can have snacks, room service, private dining, farm-to-table selections, and the Today from the Bay menu. There's weekly housekeeping, linen service, regular laundry, and dry cleaning, so no one has to worry about keeping up with chores, and transportation is available for medical appointments, errands, or outings, and complimentary rides and resident parking are also options. Pets are welcome too, with a refundable deposit for cats and dogs under 25 pounds.

The staff is on site and awake around the clock, including specially trained associates, an in-house RN wellness coordinator, nurses, a massage therapist, and visiting healthcare providers like podiatrists and therapists, and there's a doctor on call, medication management, and help with things like bathing, dressing, hygiene, and mobility, plus standby assistance, one- or two-person and mechanical lift transfers. Folks with diabetes can get insulin shots and sugar checks here, and residents who wander, act out, or need behavioral support get care in the secured memory care area, which uses alarms and wander alerts for safety, and there's close attention for those with bowel or bladder needs if they can help manage it themselves.

Whispering Woods offers a lot of activities like bingo, art, stretch classes, yoga, karaoke, MyndVR virtual reality, movies, gardening, community service, education programs, Tai Chi, brain fitness, life story reminisce, the SingFit music therapy program, and programs that connect the generations, so everyone stays interested and active. You'll find social events, community outings to stores and other spots, a special Travel the World program, the Sweet Memories™ memory care program, and resident-run activities on the calendar, plus devotional services on-site and off-site if people want them, and monthly Alzheimer's support groups for families.

This community accepts private pay, social security, veterans' benefits, Medicaid, VA benefits, and private insurance, but there's a one-time community fee and different prices for respite care and for different assistance levels. The staff can help families with outreach and education, offers information in Chinese and French for those who need it, and provides safety with a 24-hour emergency call system, call lights, and staff trained in CPR and first aid. Residents must be at least 55 years old. It's operated by Meridian Senior Living and has a reputation for stability, variety, and comfort, all designed to help people enjoy their lives while getting whatever help they need, big or small.
