    About The Farmstead by Resthaven

The Farmstead by Resthaven sits on 40 acres of land at 875 E. 24th St. in the 49423 area of Holland, Michigan, and is a new independent living community opened by Resthaven, a faith-based nonprofit that's served seniors for over 75 years. The place is almost fully booked, with a waitlist, so demand is high. The Farmstead includes 80 apartments for independent living, 24 cottage units (6 stand-alone homes and 18 duplexes), and a separate building with 24 units set aside for assisted living and memory care, giving people many choices about how they want to live. The community also has underground parking and a clubhouse, along with ample green space and walking paths, letting residents enjoy the outdoors while encouraging healthy living. The design uses 104 custom apartments and homes, with 20 different finish options for each, and over 13,500 square feet of acoustical ceiling tile, making things quieter and more comfortable.

Resthaven's mission puts a focus on listening to seniors and their families, providing social, educational, and healthcare access, along with opportunities for events, classes, and outdoor activities. People can pick from single-family homes, duplexes, roomy one- or two-bedroom apartments, or private rooms in the assisted living and memory care building. The spaces feel cozy, with warm gathering places and care companions available day and night. Staff provide help with daily tasks, medication, personal care, and meals. Memory care includes added safety for residents with dementia, and respite care is available for caregivers needing short-term relief. The whole campus was once farmland, and construction teams worked over 50,000 hours, installing more than 1,200 doors, 136,000 feet of trim, and many other materials to create a comfortable, reliable environment.

The Farmstead connects to Resthaven's wider network, which includes The Warm Friend on Eighth Street, The River Place at River Avenue and Ninth Street, two more independent living locations, one more assisted living facility, and a skilled nursing center. This setup lets residents move to different levels of care as needs change, which is sometimes called a continuum of care. Residents enjoy indoor and outdoor dining, access to common areas for socializing, and ongoing activities and wellness programs, including classes, events, and entertainment. Every part of the community aims to support emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being, and the professional staff strives to offer personalized care based on each person's needs. The Farmstead by Resthaven focuses on giving people a place to age in comfort, with support and a variety of living and care choices.
