    About Hillside Haven

Hillside Haven is a senior care community in Levering, Michigan, with a small, home-like setting and a focus on assisted living, memory care, and adult day services, and, for those times when extra help's needed, hospice and respite care, so families could find a place for loved ones who might have dementia, Parkinson's, or need a little standby assistance nearby. The facility had 2 licensed beds and was licensed as an adult family home, following state rules and offering care to residents who wanted some independence but needed help with medication, bathing, dressing, or getting around, making it a place where some folks could have their own private suites or share a simple, furnished room with maintenance-free living, so no one spent too much time worrying about things like cooking, cleaning, or laundry because, thankfully, those services were part of the package, and there were things like wheelchair accessibility, housekeeping, and even pharmacy options. The community included features like a kitchen for group meals, a chapel, a library, movie nights, arts and crafts, and walking paths through the garden and courtyard, with small pets allowed in some areas, so there was a mix of comforts for different needs, and no need to go far for activities or fresh air. Residents got cable television, internet access, phone service, and their rooms, whether studio or bedroom, came with air-conditioning, kitchenettes, and private bathrooms, all fully furnished, plus emergency alert systems and assistance for anyone who needed help moving about the place. Meals could be tailored for allergies or diabetes, everyone could look forward to regular community activities, and everything from incontinence care to transfer help and medication management came from licensed staff under the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. The staff worked with families to coordinate moves, made sure all licensing standards were met, and kept online resident information secure, though the facility closed as of February 6, 2024, so it's not open for new residents, but these were the services and living options offered while it was running.
