    Mostly positive stay with concerns

I've stayed here and would stay again - the halls and rooms are clean, the central dining room, trips/movies, and friendly residents/staff helped preserve my independence in both the memory care and assisted living wings. Most caregivers were patient, loving and conscientious, and I generally felt safe. That said, I experienced missing medications and signs of staff neglect/theft (which I reported), so be watchful.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is mixed but leans positive in many important everyday areas, with several reviewers expressing clear appreciation for the staff, the living environment, and the social aspects of Fountain View of Lowell. Multiple comments describe staff as loving, conscientious, caring, patient, and even humorous — attributes that contribute strongly to residents feeling comfortable and treated with respect. Reviewers frequently mention that the community preserves residents' independence while still providing the level of assistance they need, which suggests a supportive approach to assisted living and memory care.

Care quality is generally described favorably by many reviewers. Phrases like "safe care," "good care," and direct statements that people would stay again point to overall satisfaction with how health and daily needs are managed for most residents. The presence of both memory care and assisted living wings indicates the facility serves a range of needs and can keep couples or residents at different care levels on the same campus. However, while most feedback around care is positive, the reviews also include serious negative allegations that must be weighed heavily (see concerns below).

Staff-related themes dominate the positive commentary. Reviewers repeatedly praise the friendliness and conscientiousness of caregivers and other staff, noting patience and a sense of humor as strengths. These interpersonal qualities appear to create a welcoming social environment: residents report friendly neighbors, clean common areas, and staff that contribute to an atmosphere where people would choose to remain. Cleanliness is specifically called out for both rooms and hallways, and spacious private rooms are highlighted as a meaningful practical advantage for comfort and privacy.

Facilities and activities are also noted positively. The central dining room is a repeated detail, implying a communal meal setting that may support social life. Scheduled outings such as trips and movie events appear to be part of the activity program, suggesting the community offers engagement beyond on-site events. These features contribute to quality-of-life factors that reviewers appreciated, including opportunities for socialization and structured recreation.

Despite the largely positive day-to-day reports, there are significant and troubling negative reports that cannot be ignored. Some reviewers allege medication theft by a med tech and mention staff theft and resident neglect. These are serious accusations that raise major concerns about resident safety, medication security, staff hiring and supervision, and incident reporting and response. Even if these incidents are isolated, they have disproportionate impact on trust and perceived safety in a senior care setting.

Taken together, the reviews paint a picture of a community with many strengths—compassionate staff, clean and spacious living areas, social activities, and a generally positive resident experience—but with a small number of very serious allegations that suggest potential issues in oversight, security, or staff conduct. For prospective residents and families, the positive indicators (staff demeanor, cleanliness, activities, and willingness to recommend/stay) are encouraging, but the reported theft and neglect allegations are red flags that should prompt direct questioning of management about policies and safeguards.

Specific follow-up items that prospective residents or their families should consider when evaluating Fountain View of Lowell include asking management about medication handling and storage procedures, staff hiring and background check processes, incident reporting and resolution protocols, frequency and results of internal audits, and how the community communicates and remedies resident/family complaints. In summary, many reviewers praise the facility's everyday care and community life, but the serious negative reports underscore the need for careful due diligence around safety and oversight before making a placement decision.

    About Fountain View of Lowell

Fountain View of Lowell sits in a quiet area and provides a place for senior adults to live with care and respect, and the emphasis really falls on individualized care for each resident, which means every person has a plan that fits their needs whether they need help with things like bathing, dressing, taking medicine, or just some light housekeeping, and the staff do their best to keep an eye out all day and night. Residents get choices for living spaces like private or shared rooms, spacious apartments, and the amenities cover simple things like meals, laundry, housekeeping, a barber or salon, and even emergency call systems for peace of mind. The community offers independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care for those with special needs, and adult day services, and there's home health care and hospice care available, too, so someone can get a wide range of help right where they live. Meals happen in a central dining room and there's all-day dining, plus snacks, and if someone has a special diet, they'll try to work with that, and then there are fun things happening most days, from scheduled activities and outings to arts and movie nights, and even resident-run groups, while folks can walk the gardens or use the community spaces or attend events meant to help everyone stay connected. The Christian atmosphere shapes a culture of dignity and spiritual care, and the team focuses on the whole person, not just health needs but also well-being, belonging, and self-sufficiency, and with Vice President Mr. Neil Kraay and staff like Ms. June Thompson and Ms. Carrie Pattee, you always know someone's in charge if you need to talk. The community encourages family to stay in touch through digital platforms, and the BBB rating of A+ shows strong business practices, while licensed, trained staff give 24-hour care and response, and all of this helps Fountain View of Lowell work as a place where folks can feel comfortable, looked after, and at home as they get older.
