    Attentive staff, spacious apartments, recommended

I moved my dad here and we couldn't be happier. The staff are genuinely caring, professional, and feel like family - attentive, personalized care and thoughtful leadership keep residents safe and engaged. The apartments are spacious, bright, and well-appointed (kitchen, private bath), and the facility has lovely courtyards and great amenities - salon, movie theater, active calendar and tasty, nutritious meals. It's clean, modern, home-like, and management addresses issues promptly. Minor staffing shortages occasionally slow assistance, but overall excellent value and highly recommended.

    About New Hope Bay

New Hope Bay stays open all day and all night, every day, so there's always someone around, and it fits the category of a home for the aged, offering options for assisted living, independent living, enhanced independent living, memory care, and enhanced memory care, with a focus on serving older adults including those who live with Alzheimer's or dementia, and the place can take care of up to 98 residents at a time. The community offers some of the largest apartments in the area, with living spaces that range from 600 to 905 square feet, so there's room to move around, and these units have things like walk-in closets, big bathrooms, and lots of windows that let in natural light, plus some have sliding doors leading to porches right by a courtyard, and kitchens come with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, while there's ten-foot ceilings and crown molding in some units as well. Every apartment comes set up for Wi-Fi, expanded Charter TV, phone service, and all the utilities like heat, air conditioning, electricity, and water are included, which takes some hassle off daily living, and there are in-unit washers and dryers too, so doing laundry doesn't mean leaving home, while enclosed parking with remote garage openers adds a layer of convenience for those who drive.

People who live at New Hope Bay can pick from different lay-outs with names like The Bay, The Essex, The Huron, The Liberty, The Michigan, The State, The Superior, or The Wenonah, and some apartments have kitchenettes for those who want to make a cup of tea or a quick bite. Residents can spend their time in large common spaces like a sunroom, dining room, salon, fitness area, living room, and an interior courtyard, while the daily routine might include a continental breakfast in the dining room and restaurant-style meals plus snacks at other times, and there's always home-cooked food. There's lots to do, with fitness and wellness programs, games, hobbies, community events, and field trips, plus intergenerational activities thanks to partnerships with programs like Montessori Child Care. A movie theater, day spa, and on-site salon with hairdresser give residents extra ways to spend their time, and religious services are available for those who wish to participate.

Staff at New Hope Bay includes specialized personnel and a part-time nurse to keep an eye on health care needs, and there's mental health support provided by licensed groups, so those with more specific needs have support. For people dealing with memory loss or dementia, the memory care and enhanced memory care community offers secure premises with 24-hour supervision, tailored activities and safety measures, and there's a high ratio between staff and residents, so those living with cognitive issues get more attention and engagement. The community's all-inclusive care covers personal care costs in the monthly fee, and extra help or supervision is available as people need it with aging. Residents have local transportation, regular housekeeping, organized recreation, and a full life enrichment schedule, plus enhanced safety and health supervision, and there's a strong focus on privacy, independence, and respectful care in a warm environment.

The community supports not only the physical but also the social, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual needs of its residents, and the design aims to create a comfortable and stimulating daily life for each person, no matter the support they need. By offering several floor plans, amenities like Wi-Fi and cable, and access to both quiet spaces and active programming, New Hope Bay sets up a living space with a straightforward, relaxed, and comfortable atmosphere, with special attention given to those living with memory or mobility challenges.
