    Small family-run professional memory care

I’m so relieved we found this family-run, businesslike foster/memory care home — exactly the memory care we wanted. The husband-and-wife team cares for only three residents, keeps everyone and the home spotless, and the caregivers are the best. Meals are homemade (great soups) and served family-style, pricing is affordable with reasonable single-room rates, and they take residents to the Senior Center, bingo, and church. It’s professional yet home-like.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews for Jolene's Country Home is largely positive, emphasizing a small, family-oriented setting with strong personal care, good cleanliness, and homelike meals. Multiple reviewers highlight that the home is family-run (a husband-and-wife team) and operates at a maximum of three residents, which reviewers view as conducive to individualized attention. The primary caregiver receives particular praise, being called the 'best caregiver' by at least one reviewer. Cleanliness of the home and residents is repeatedly noted, reinforcing impressions of good daily care and attention to personal hygiene and housekeeping.

Dining and the domestic environment are standout positives. Reviewers repeatedly comment on the quality of the food, mentioning homemade soups and family-style meals that contribute to a warm, homelike atmosphere. This consistent praise for cooking and communal meals suggests the dining experience is a meaningful part of the home's identity and appeal.

Activity offerings and resident engagement are also mentioned favorably. The home arranges outings and activities such as trips to the Senior Center, bingo, and church, indicating efforts to keep residents socially engaged and connected to community resources. These outings reinforce the impression that the facility strives to provide a normal, active routine for residents rather than isolating them within the home.

Cost and licensing appear in reviews with mixed emphasis. Several reviewers call the pricing affordable and appropriate, while others reference a 'price range for single room,' indicating that costs vary by room type or care level and that prospective families should confirm specifics. The facility is described as a foster care setting, which can be an important licensing detail for families to verify when comparing placements.

Notable concerns and patterns that prospective families should weigh include the facility's very small size and the fact that primary care is delivered by a husband-and-wife team. While many reviews treat these as advantages (personalized, family-like care), they also imply potential limitations: capacity is restricted, which could lead to limited availability, and reliance on a small staff raises questions about backup staffing, consistency during absences, and the breadth of specialized services. Some reviewers describe a 'business-oriented atmosphere,' which contrasts with other descriptions of a 'home-like' environment; this indicates mixed impressions about management style and the balance between professional operations and family warmth.

Memory care is specifically flagged in the review summaries. Terms like 'foster care facility, memory care, seeking memory care' suggest that at least some reviewers are looking for memory care services or trying to determine whether Jolene's Country Home provides that level of specialized care. Reviews do not provide clear confirmation that full memory-care programming or staff training is offered, so families with dementia or significant cognitive needs should directly verify whether the facility provides formal memory care, what specialized interventions are available, staffing ratios for memory-impaired residents, and relevant training or certifications.

In conclusion, Jolene's Country Home is depicted across reviews as a small, clean, family-run foster care home with highly regarded caregivers, excellent home-cooked meals, affordable pricing for many, and active community outings. It appears especially well suited for families seeking a home-like, intimate setting with personalized attention. However, the limited capacity, potential staffing constraints inherent to a husband-and-wife operation, mixed impressions about a business-like management style, and ambiguous indications about memory care specialization are important qualifiers. Prospective residents and families should verify current availability, exact pricing for specific room options, staffing backup plans, and whether the facility meets any specific memory-care needs before making a placement decision.
