    Homey six-resident facility provides care

I placed my parent in this homey six-resident facility and have been very pleased - the knowledgeable, kind staff provide excellent care (bathing, laundry, good meals), run activities and senior-center outings, help with VA paperwork, respond quickly if health worsens, and offer income-based pricing.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment from the reviews is predominantly positive, emphasizing a small, home-like environment with attentive staff and basic supportive services. Multiple reviewers highlight the facility's small capacity (six residents), describing it as clean, homey, and comfortable. That small scale appears to contribute to a personalized atmosphere where staff know residents well and provide hands-on assistance such as bathing, meal service, and laundry. The combination of cleanliness, comfort, and an intimate setting is a repeatedly noted strength in the reviews.

Care quality and responsiveness are frequent themes. Reviewers explicitly mention assistance with bathing and that the staff can respond when residents' conditions worsen, suggesting the home is able to accommodate changing care needs to some degree. Separate comments call out that residents receive "good care," reinforcing a generally favorable impression of day-to-day care practices. The facility's willingness to assist with VA paperwork is a practical plus for veterans and their families, and income-based pricing may make the home more accessible to those with limited resources.

Staff-related comments are uniformly positive across the summaries: reviewers use descriptors such as kind, caring, knowledgeable, and wonderful to describe employees. Multiple mentions of staff kindness and competence indicate that interpersonal interactions and caregiving skills are perceived as strong points. That perceived staff quality likely ties into the reported responsiveness and the comfortable, home-like feel.

Services and amenities mentioned include regular meals (several reviewers noted good meals), laundry service, and organized activities. Activities are described positively, including outings to the senior center and "nice activities," which suggests that residents have opportunities for social engagement and outings beyond the home. These elements—meals, laundry, and activity programming—contribute to an overall supportive daily living environment.

Management and affordability-related aspects are touched on in practical ways. The facility assists with VA paperwork and sets pricing based on income, both of which indicate a management approach that is accommodating and potentially aimed at serving residents with financial or benefits-related needs. The small size of the facility may also imply more individualized attention from management, though the reviews do not explicitly detail administrative processes beyond the income-based pricing and VA assistance.

Notable pattern of concern: despite the largely favorable comments, at least one reviewer concluded with "not recommended." That single negative remark is not elaborated upon in the provided summaries, so the specific cause of dissatisfaction is unclear. Because it stands in contrast to multiple positive reports about staff, cleanliness, care, and services, it represents an outlier that should prompt further inquiry if making a placement decision. Prospective residents and families should ask the facility for more details, request references, and, if possible, visit in person to reconcile the overwhelmingly positive themes with the lone negative recommendation.

In summary, the reviews portray Huntington Homes as a small, clean, and comfortable facility with caring, competent staff; practical services (meals, laundry, bathing assistance); activity options including senior center outings; responsiveness to worsening conditions; and management practices that include VA paperwork assistance and income-based pricing. The dominant impression is positive and focused on personalized care in a home-like environment. The primary caveat is a single unspecified negative recommendation in the review set; this discrepancy is worth following up on directly with the facility to clarify any underlying issues before making final decisions.
