About Tabitha in Crete - The Gardens Assisted Living

Tabitha in Crete - The Gardens Assisted Living sits on well-kept grounds with walking paths and several outdoor spots for fresh air and visiting. Apartments come in unfurnished studio and one-bedroom layouts, so residents can bring their own things and really make it feel like home, and there's even a deluxe studio option for those who want a little more space. The place's got its own special names for care types and programs, but really, it covers a wide range-independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care for Alzheimer's and dementia, respite care, home care, hospice, and more, all tied into the Tabitha Continuing Care Retirement Community setup, which means folks can move through levels of care as their needs change over the years.

The Gardens Assisted Living has 48 units, with studio and one-bed options, and as of June 2025, 4 beds are open. There's a 24-hour call and alert system, so if anything happens, staff can respond right away. If someone needs help with everyday stuff-like bathing, getting dressed, walking, or even managing medicines-trained caregivers are there, day and night, and licensed nurses handle health checks and wellness plans every month. Meals get served up restaurant-style in a friendly dining room or out on the patio when the weather's good, and folks who need special diets or diabetic meals can get that, too.

Amenities include things like a big activity room with a big-screen TV, a beauty/barber shop, a bath house and spa, patios and a porch by the courtyard, and a resident kitchen for those who still like to cook. Housekeeping, linen service, laundry, and maintenance are wrapped up in one monthly fee with basic utilities and cable, which keeps things simpler. There's also move-in help, scheduled rides for appointments or trips into town, a private dining room for family gatherings, furnished lounges, activity areas, and weekly programs for art, movies, wellness, and recreation.

Special care's on hand for folks with serious health issues, both medical and mental, including memory care programming and non-ambulatory care for those who can't walk without help. Medication management, continence programs, nighttime safety checks, health monitoring, and coordination with doctors or other providers make it easier for families to keep track and know their loved ones are getting what they need. The Gardens offers short-term respite stays, too, so family caregivers get a break while residents enjoy full access to everything on-site.

All of this runs under Tabitha's non-profit mission, and financial support's an option, with both Medicare and Medicaid accepted. The Gardens focuses on giving people choices and support so they keep as much independence and dignity as possible, whether they need a little help now and then or round-the-clock, high-level care.
