    Friendly staff, excellent food, amenities

I live at Trinity and love the friendly, caring staff, excellent food, beautiful and always-clean home-like building, and the many amenities (wellness center/gym, salon, library, concerts, activities, shuttle/outings). Nurses and care staff have been outstanding - they even saved my father - and staff helped with transitions to higher care. I highly recommend Trinity for its resident-first, social atmosphere, though the front office/administration can be brusque at times.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Immanuel: Trinity Village is strongly positive, with repeated praise for the quality of care, the warmth of the staff, and the breadth of amenities. A dominant theme is the compassion and attentiveness of direct care workers and nurses; multiple reviewers single out staff members by name and credit nursing personnel with lifesaving interventions (including an identified Heimlich maneuver and a nurse recognized for exceptional care). Residents and families consistently describe staff as kind, caring, and resident-focused, and many comments emphasize that resident voices are heard and that staff put residents first.

Facility and amenities receive frequent positive mentions. Reviewers describe the property as beautiful both inside and out, with cozy common areas (fireplaces, a large great room), gardens, covered parking/garages, elevators, and lots of natural light via bay windows. The wellness center and gym are repeatedly noted as comprehensive, and additional on-site services such as a salon, library, and multiple comfortable sitting areas contribute to a home-like atmosphere. Dining is highlighted as a strength — clean dining rooms, a wide variety of well-planned meals, and positive comments about food quality. Transportation and shuttle services, along with organized external outings, are also valuable practical features praised by families and residents.

The social and activity environment appears robust. Reviewers describe an active calendar with concerts, band performances, entertainment, exercise classes, and other planned activities that foster a fun, comfortable, and engaged community. Many comments reflect long-term resident satisfaction and strong neighbor relationships, with some residents reporting multi-year stays and an enjoyable, “blessed” community atmosphere. The combination of social support, activities, and attentive care contributes to a sense of safety and belonging for many residents.

Care continuum and organization are other positive points: Trinity Village is described as organized, clean, and able to meet needs across stages from independent living to assisted care and nursing transitions. Several reviewers specifically appreciated the facility’s help during transitions to higher levels of care and praised nurses and medical personnel for responsiveness and competence. Tour experiences are often described as knowledgeable and welcoming, with refreshments and well-orchestrated visits leaving strong impressions on prospective residents and families.

Notwithstanding the overwhelmingly favorable feedback, a few consistent concerns emerge. Several reviewers call out the front office or administrative staff for rudeness or an impersonal demeanor; there are explicit remarks that some administrative personnel appear more focused on payroll or financial matters than on resident interactions. This creates a notable contrast between highly praised frontline caregivers and mixed impressions of management or administrative staff. Another practical point raised is room size: while some reviews note large rooms and bathrooms, others mention small room sizes, indicating variability in unit layouts that prospective residents should confirm on a tour. A smaller number of reviewers note that the facility’s location is farther south than ideal for their families, so geographic convenience may be a factor for some.

In summary, Immanuel: Trinity Village is presented in reviews as a well-maintained, amenity-rich community with outstanding direct care and nursing staff, strong dining and activity programs, and a warm, home-like atmosphere. The primary cautions are about occasional administrative/staffing attitudes at the front office level and variability in room sizes and location for some families. For those prioritizing compassionate caregiving, active social life, good food, and comprehensive wellness amenities, the reviews indicate Trinity Village is highly recommended; prospective residents should confirm specific room dimensions and speak with administrative staff during a tour to assess fit on the management/administrative side.

    About Immanuel: Trinity Village

Immanuel: Trinity Village provides independent living and assisted living apartments with choices like multiple floor plans, private rooms, Wi-Fi, kitchens, cable TV, and even a washer and dryer so folks can handle laundry in their own space, and some people like gathering by the library fireplace to read or talk with neighbors while others enjoy the outdoor patio that's filled with comfortable rocking chairs looking out over a well-kept, grassy courtyard with bright landscaping for when you want some fresh air. The place has a greenhouse where residents like to garden, and there's also a chance for seniors to volunteer with the Little Lights Preschool right at the community, so everyone from kids to older adults can meet and learn from each other. The dining room serves meals prepared by a professional chef and makes accommodations for specific diets, and guests can join for meals, too, with the option for room service if someone wants to eat in their apartment, and there's a coffee shop for simpler meals or a cup of coffee. Activities fill the days, with educational classes, events, a fitness center full of equipment, and an inviting chapel decorated for different seasons, especially Christmas when the poinsettias come out and everything feels festive and welcoming for folks who value their faith. Trinity Village includes a movie theater, a salon and barber, security, laundry services, pet-friendly shared spaces, and transportation to appointments or shopping so living independently is a real option for people who don't want to drive anymore. The place runs Immanuel Pathways (PACE®), a senior care program serving Central Iowa, Eastern Nebraska, and Southwest Iowa, and has skilled nursing and long-term care services in Des Moines to cover more support when needed. The staff helps residents find new interests, join group activities, or get support staying active, and they keep a helpful schedule packed with choices so people can get involved as much as they want. There's always someone from the property management team around to help, and the focus stays on providing care with compassion in a Christ-centered, affordable community that looks after people's health, friendships, spiritual life, and daily needs.
