    Warm welcoming but not suitable

I toured this warm, clean, homelike facility and found the staff and owners very attentive, caring, and welcoming-the location is beautiful and they even give gifts on birthdays and Christmas. Meals could be better, and smoking in rooms raised fire-safety concerns; it wasn't a good social or care fit for my mom (age and she needs more structure). I would recommend it for the right resident, but not for my mom.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive about the personal, home-like environment and the quality of staff at Ashley Manor Assisted Living. Multiple reviewers emphasize the facility’s warm, welcoming atmosphere and the sense of a homely, relaxed setting. The director is described as honest and helpful during tours, and visitors note timely, friendly responses and a generally inviting impression during visits. The building and grounds are repeatedly called attractive and well-kept, and cleanliness is noted as a consistent strength.

Staff quality and attentiveness are the most prominent strengths across the feedback. Reviewers mention caring, loving aides and an "awesome" staff and owner presence; owners are characterized as attentive and engaged. Specific positive practices such as giving gifts for birthdays and Christmas stand out as thoughtful touches that contribute to a family-like feel. Several reviewers explicitly state they would or do recommend the facility, which reinforces the strong overall approval of how residents are treated day-to-day.

On the facilities side, comments point to a nice-looking, clean property in a beautiful location. The environment is described as relaxed and homelike rather than institutional, which many reviewers appreciate. Visitors and family members report welcoming tours and a comfortable atmosphere that makes the facility feel like a true group home rather than a clinical setting.

There are, however, recurring concerns that prospective residents and families should weigh. A primary theme is that Ashley Manor may not be well suited for residents who require higher levels of structure or more intensive medical care. Several reviewers noted that the facility was "not suitable for mom" or that a resident’s age and care needs raised concerns — suggesting the community is better matched to residents with moderate or lower acuity. Linked to that, some families felt the environment lacked the kind of structured programming or oversight needed for certain individuals.

Safety and lifestyle issues appear in a few reviews: smoking in rooms and the associated fire risk was specifically mentioned, which could be a significant red flag for families worried about safety and regulatory compliance. Social fit is another area where experiences vary — while many find the homelike atmosphere ideal, some residents did not mesh well socially with the community. Dining also emerged as a point for improvement, with at least one comment indicating that meals "could be better," suggesting food quality or variety may not meet all expectations.

In summary, Ashley Manor Assisted Living is frequently praised for its warm, caring staff, attentive management, clean and attractive facility, and a comforting, home-like environment with personal touches. These are strong selling points for families looking for a cozy, community-oriented assisted living option. Prospective residents and families should, however, carefully assess care needs and compatibility with the facility’s relaxed, less structured model. Concerns about smoking practices and meal quality should be discussed in advance during tours. Overall, the facility earns high marks for compassion and personalized attention but may be best suited for individuals whose needs align with a quieter, homelike assisted living rather than a setting requiring higher medical oversight or strict structure.
