    Compassionate care with minor drawbacks

I placed my father at Safe Haven and couldn't be more pleased. The staff are warm, professional, and went above and beyond-one caregiver in particular was amazing-and communication with our family was excellent. The home is spotless, beautifully decorated with lots of natural light, roomy rooms and lovely landscaping; the compassion and end-of-life care far exceeded a nursing home. My only drawbacks were the distance from our home and frequent staff turnover (every 4-6 months). I highly recommend Safe Haven.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive: reviewers consistently praise Safe Haven Elder Care LLC for compassionate, professional care and an atmosphere that feels warm and home-like. Multiple commenters described staff as caring, attentive, and willing to go above and beyond; several noted that staff became like family. Communication with families is highlighted as a strength, with staff described as helpful and informative. Several reviews explicitly recommend the facility to friends and family, and at least one account compares the care favorably to a nursing home, particularly for end-of-life needs.

Care quality emerges as a central theme. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize compassionate, sensitive handling of residents and visitors, and call out excellent end-of-life support. The staff are repeatedly described as professional and compassionate, and specific praise for individuals (name removed in summaries) reinforces the perception of strong personal attention. Appreciation for staff excellence and owner involvement suggests that management presence and culture contribute to consistent caregiving practices.

The physical environment and amenities receive similarly high marks. The facility is described as spotless, beautifully decorated, and home-like, with a bright dining room and lobby full of natural light. Reviewers noted calm residents, impressive room sizes, nice landscaping, and an overall style that resembles a private home rather than an institutional setting. These details combine to create an environment that reviewers find comfortable, welcoming, and dignified for their loved ones.

Operational and administrative strengths are also mentioned: reviewers note transparency, sensitivity, and good communication with families, and several comments express gratitude for how staff and management handled visits and transitions. The facility is described as active and well-kept, which indicates available programming or engagement for residents even though specific activities were not enumerated in the summaries.

Notable concerns are limited but consistent across reviews. The most frequently mentioned drawback is staff turnover, reported as occurring every 4–6 months, and linked to the facility hiring staff from outside the country. This pattern could raise questions about continuity of care and familiarity between caregivers and residents, even though reviewers still reported very positive day-to-day interactions. Another practical concern mentioned by some families is distance—Safe Haven’s location may be inconvenient for those living far away, which could affect visitation frequency.

In conclusion, the reviews portray Safe Haven Elder Care LLC as a high-quality, well-managed, and compassionate residential care setting with an inviting physical environment and strong family communication. The dominant impression is one of trust and satisfaction: multiple reviewers would recommend the facility and express gratitude for the care provided. Prospective families should weigh the excellent reported care, environment, and communication against the operational note of relatively frequent staff turnover and consider asking management about staff retention strategies and orientation/continuity practices. Additionally, families for whom distance is a concern should factor commute time into their decision.

About Safe Haven Elder Care LLC

Safe Haven Elder Care LLC sits in Avon Lake, OH, looking after seniors in a home-like place with five big and comfortable rooms that can be private or semi-private, and you can feel that gentle routine and watchful care everywhere, with staff who always help with bathing, dressing, meals, laundry, medicines, and all the daily needs, plus nurses on hand for health issues and visiting nurses, podiatrists, and therapists coming by for extra help, while meals get made fresh every day with choices for special diets like kosher, vegetarian, organic, less salt, or no sugar, and if someone needs help with diabetes, such as checking blood sugar, insulin reminders, or even special injections, Safe Haven can do that too, as long as you don't mind a no-smoking rule and need a wheelchair-friendly spot, because they want everyone as safe and healthy as possible, especially with their memory care unit and secured area in a different building where seniors with Alzheimer's or dementia get special attention, protected spaces, and activity programs meant for both the mind and the body, while a wander alert system and technology with bracelets help stop people from getting lost, and folks who might try to leave or act out can still live here because the staff can handle those needs, and whether it's for a few hours at adult day services, living full time with long-term skilled nursing, or just getting non-medical support at home through home care, they'll try to give what's needed, including respite and hospice care or behavioral support, or assistance for nearly any kind of trouble from incontinence to catheter management to Parkinson's, and when you look around you'll see indoor and outdoor common spaces, activities both in the house and out, plus rides to doctor's visits or a trip to the park, with haircuts and barbering on site, and Spanish-speaking staff too, and the Residential Care Home is state licensed, owned by Mrs. Sandra Bodean, and run under license 03-75921, while being accredited with the BBB and set up as a safe, supervised home where seniors can age in place, get daily reminders and help with self-medicating, and stay as independent as possible, all while living near churches, beaches, and parks, and if family wants to see things for themselves, they can always set up a tour to meet staff and residents.
