About Slovene Home For The Aged

Slovene Home For The Aged sits on a peaceful property in Cleveland and has been serving seniors since 1962, with a long connection to the Slovenian-American community mostly through efforts to create a place where both women and men could have their cultural and religious needs respected as they age, and while the building has grown from just 24 residents to up to 170 over the years, the home has always tried to make sure people feel comfortable there, whether they're staying for skilled nursing, assisted living, long-term care, or getting short-term help to recover from an illness or surgery. People who need daily help can move into The Lindens, which has nine private suites for assisted living, while others who need more hands-on nursing care can find a spot in one of the 150 skilled nursing beds or use private rooms for rehab, whether that's for a short or longer stay, and for those who need to stay for shorter sessions or just need to give their caregiver a break, respite care is available, as well as hospice care which helps make end-of-life transitions as gentle as possible, and the staff-including doctors, nurses, therapists, dieticians, and social workers-work together to make personalized plans for each person, keeping independence, kindness, and dignity in mind. The building feels homey, with small indoor gathering spaces, a big outdoor patio, safe walking paths, and shared activity rooms where folks can enjoy socializing and recreation, plus there's a fitness center, therapeutic recreation, an on-site salon and barber, laundry and housekeeping services, Wi-Fi, and meals that take into account health and personal preferences. The Home uses up-to-date rehab equipment and offers physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and most insurances are accepted, with support available if people can't pay the full cost, including Medicare and Medicaid. Children and pets can visit, as long as pets are on leashes with all shots up to date, and clergy are always welcome, with regular visiting hours from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The focus remains on serving each person's physical, medical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs in a not-for-profit environment where they try to provide compassionate, kind, and respectful care above all else, helping people stay as happy and independent as they can while still having help nearby when needed.
