    Excellent care and beautiful community

I chose Gardens of Scioto for my mom and I'm very pleased. The nurses, aides and therapists are warm, professional and attentive, move-in was smooth, and care has been excellent. The community is beautiful, spotless and spacious with private baths, pet-friendly grounds, good food and lots of activities, plus on-site rehab and dialysis for peace of mind. I highly recommend it.

Several reviewers explicitly state they would recommend the community, and many note specific positive memories such as a 100th birthday celebration and multi-year stays.

Care quality and clinical services: Multiple reviews emphasize high-quality nursing and aide care, describing staff as competent, attentive, and caring. Therapy staff and on-site rehabilitation receive praise for helping residents improve and return home; one reviewer noted a successful discharge home after therapy. The community is a full healthcare campus offering assisted living plus independent living villas and on-site clinical services. A particularly notable service is in-house kidney dialysis, which reviewers point out is rare to find in the Columbus area. The presence of on-campus healthcare, respite apartments, and the ability to transition residents from assisted living to independent villas are mentioned as important strengths that support long-term care continuity.

Staff, management, and customer relations: Staff quality is the most frequently mentioned theme. Reviewers use words like amazing, friendly, attentive, caring, respectful, and professional. Community relations staff receive specific praise by name—Debbie Ayers is repeatedly highlighted as warm and knowledgeable, and Stephanie is called fantastic—indicating strong front-line outreach and admissions support. Several comments describe a smooth move-in process, helpful coordination for out-of-town family members, and staff who are not pushy but very supportive. The kitchen staff and nurses also receive individual recognition, reinforcing a sense of cohesive, resident-centered care.

Facilities, accommodations, and cleanliness: The facility is described as beautiful, well-run, and very clean. Apartment units are frequently called spacious, bright, and new with excellent layouts and private baths. Outdoor spaces such as patios and grassy areas are noted, and the community is described as relaxed and family-friendly. Pet-friendliness is repeatedly cited (cats allowed), with reviewers appreciating that policies support residents who have animals. Several reviewers mention a pleasant, spiritually fulfilling atmosphere and communal spaces where events and gatherings take place.

Dining and activities: Dining receives positive remarks—food is described as quite good and kitchen staff as attentive. Activity programming is robust, with frequent references to bingo, bowling, Buckeye game gatherings, arts and crafts, church services, and general social events that contribute to an upbeat resident culture. Reviewers characterize the community as having lots of fun activities and opportunities for social engagement, which complements the positive mood noted across reviews.

Location, affordability, and family experience: The community’s location is cited as convenient, making it easy for family members to visit and come-and-go. Multiple reviewers mention proximity to family as a deciding factor and appreciate the support provided to out-of-town relatives. Affordability is explicitly mentioned in at least one review, and several reviewers note that they felt satisfied with the value given the level of care and amenities. Family-oriented examples—such as celebrating milestones and staff supporting family needs—suggest strong family satisfaction and involvement.

Patterns and notable items: Recurring patterns include exceptional staff interactions, breadth of on-site healthcare (including the rare in-house dialysis), clean and attractive living spaces, and a strong activity program. Specific staff names (Debbie Ayers and Stephanie) come up repeatedly, indicating consistent positive experiences with the community relations team. There are also multiple mentions of successful clinical outcomes (therapy leading to discharge home) and long-term positive stays (a three-year stay and a 100th birthday celebration), which collectively support a narrative of continuity, celebration, and effective care.

Concerns and negatives: The provided review summaries include almost no negative comments or complaints. Reviewers repeatedly state “no complaints,” “not pushy,” and “very satisfied.” Because the source summaries do not note service shortfalls, wait times, cost concerns beyond the one mention of affordability, or other areas of dissatisfaction, no consistent negative themes emerge from this dataset.

Bottom line: Gardens of Scioto is portrayed as a well-run, welcoming senior community with strong, compassionate staff, comprehensive onsite medical and therapy services (including rare dialysis capability), clean and spacious living units, engaging activities, pet-friendly policies, and effective family communication. The reviews collectively describe a place where residents are happy, families feel supported, and clinical needs are met across levels of care.
