    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive: multiple summaries describe Grand Living as providing exceptional, compassionate, and highly personalized care. Reviewers consistently highlight attentive, loving staff who deliver one-on-one support and quick responses to resident needs. Families report feeling comfortable and confident in the management, with several comments noting a conscientious manager/owner and a professional team that communicates well and works closely with family members to acclimate residents. Many reviews emphasize peace of mind for extended family and high overall satisfaction, with some describing the experience as significantly better than what could be provided at home or than care in larger facilities.

Care quality and staffing emerge as the most prominent strengths. Descriptions such as "compassionate staff," "care with loving hands," "around-the-clock assistance," and "staff know residents well" point to a hands-on, attentive caregiving model. The staff appear to prioritize dignity and respect, provide thoughtful, individualized care, and foster trusting relationships with families. Multiple reviews call out the facility’s ability to handle personal-care needs with professionalism and warmth, and reviewers explicitly recommend Grand Living over larger, less personal facilities.

The physical environment and scale of the community are also repeatedly praised. Grand Living is portrayed as a small, intimate, home-like ranch that houses only a few residents (references to a six-resident community recur). The facility is described as clean, fresh, beautifully decorated, and welcoming to visitors. Rooms are noted as large, tidy, and comfortably appointed. This small, family-style setting contributes to a quiet, homely atmosphere that many families prefer to the institutional feel of bigger facilities; reviewers frequently comment that the environment feels like "home" and is better suited to individualized care.

Dining and activities receive positive remarks as well: residents reportedly enjoy the food, and activities are available and enjoyed by some. However, because the community is very small, opportunities for social interaction with peers may be limited. Several reviews explicitly note "limited interaction with other residents" and that the small setting results in quieter social dynamics. Relatedly, a few reviewers mentioned concerns tied to resident alertness or engagement — in other words, some residents may not be as socially active or alert, which can affect their day-to-day happiness. These observations suggest the facility excels at personal care and comfort but may offer fewer peer-based socialization options than larger communities.

Another pattern is the facility’s faith-based character: one review mentions "Christian care," and the overall tone suggests that spiritual orientation is part of the community’s identity for at least some families. For many reviewers this is a positive attribute, but it could be a consideration for families preferring a secular environment or different faith emphasis. Capacity is an implicit constraint: the intimate size that enables individualized attention also means limited availability and that Grand Living may not be appropriate for residents seeking a bustling social scene or a wide range of group programs.

In summary, Grand Living is consistently presented as a well-run, small-scale assisted living option that delivers warm, individualized, high-quality care. Its main strengths are its compassionate staff, attentive one-on-one approach, clean and home-like environment, strong family communication, and management that inspires confidence. Key trade-offs include limited peer interaction due to the very small resident population, occasional concerns about resident alertness/engagement that can affect happiness, and a faith-oriented atmosphere that may not suit every family. For families prioritizing personalized attention, dignity, and a homelike atmosphere — and who accept the smaller social scope — Grand Living appears to be highly recommended by those who have experience with it.

    About Grand Living

Grand Living is a small, locally owned senior community in a quiet Copley, Ohio neighborhood, set in a 6,000 square foot private home, and serves only six residents at a time, so people there tend to know each other well, and the on-site Licensed Practical Nurse manages daily care five days a week, which helps families feel peace of mind. The staff offer assisted living, independent living, and memory care services, including dementia support, and customize their approach for each resident-there's help with bathing, dressing, grooming, medication reminders, and even high-acuity and bed-bound care, plus they manage special plans for people with Alzheimer's, creating a secure environment for those with memory loss. The home has large, nicely decorated private rooms, all fully furnished with attached half-baths and cable, telephone, and internet included-residents also get three nutritious meals a day made to meet dietary needs, and can enjoy indoor common areas, outdoor patios, and a dining room, so there's always a spot to gather or relax. Safety matters, so the community offers medical alert systems, walk-in tubs, home security, ID theft protection, and accessible features like wheelchair access and an elevator. Grand Living keeps residents busy and connected with scheduled social and recreational activities, spiritual and devotional services right on-site, and offers both on-site and off-site events as well as transportation and parking. There's support for pets, and families can count on housekeeping, laundry, linen service, and building maintenance as part of the package. Amenities extend to regular visits from nurses, a podiatrist, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, dentist services, and beautician and barber onsite. For those with extra needs, services include medication management, incontinence care, non-ambulatory care, hospice, respite stays, companion care, and skilled nursing, with some specialized programs having their own unique names. Residents can reach out and stay engaged with basic cable, internet, and a telephone in every room, and the comfortable setting feels homelike, with a calm atmosphere and the chance to participate in plenty of activities or just take in the peaceful surroundings. Those living here also have access to local shops, restaurants, and attractions around Akron, using transportation if needed, so no one feels shut in.
