    Caring staff, clean home, caveats

I placed my mom at Greenview Living and have been very pleased: Danka and the staff are caring and professional, the home is immaculate and safe, meals are nutritious, hydration and communication improved, and my mom's anxiety has gone down. The facility gave our family real relief, but be aware of strict policies and extra costs (nonrefundable days, required supplies), a restrictive pet/visitation practice at times, and some onsite services like the beautician aren't licensed. Overall I recommend Greenview for personalized, attentive care despite a few policy caveats.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is positive but mixed, with strong praise for frontline caregiving and facility cleanliness counterbalanced by recurring administrative and policy concerns. The dominant strengths cited across multiple reviews are the quality of hands-on care and the cleanliness and homelike environment. Families frequently describe staff as caring, professional, and welcoming; multiple reviewers highlight that caregivers attend to hydration, follow doctors' medication instructions, and create personalized care plans (including exercise regimens). Several families reported tangible health improvements for residents — better hydration, weight gain, and reduced anxiety — which reviewers attribute to attentive staff and consistent routines. The presence of room monitors, a small private-house setting, pleasant gardens, and well-kept rooms also contribute to a sense of safety and comfort. Many reviewers recommend Greenview Living and note relief for primary caregivers when their loved ones are placed there. There is also mention of practical pre-move-in meetings to assess mobility and capacity, and availability of end-of-life stays, both of which appeal to families seeking thorough planning and continuity of care.

Staffing and leadership receive both praise and critique. Numerous reviews celebrate the owner (named Danka) as warm, family-like, and personally involved, and many reviewers single out individual staff members as compassionate and effective. At the same time, a consistent theme among negative accounts centers on management decisions and policy enforcement. Several reviewers report disputes with the owner or administration over refunds for unused days or services; nonrefundable policies and refusal to reimburse families appear repeatedly. There are also complaints about a mismatch between written policies and practice — most notably a stated pet policy versus reported denial of pet visits. These policy conflicts create a notable split in perceptions of the owner and management: for some the owner is welcoming and attentive, while for others interactions resulted in unsatisfactory outcomes around billing, refunds, or policy application.

Dining and related service areas show mixed feedback. Many reviewers praise the facility’s home-cooked, nutritious meals and say residents look forward to them and have experienced weight gain. However, other reviewers complained that meals were not healthy or regular, that family-provided food was discarded, or that meal portions/quality did not meet expectations. There are also specific complaints about extra or disputed charges related to daily baths and about being required to supply basic items such as bed pads and certain furnishings. These operational and billing concerns — including one-off reports of reimbursement being issued to some families while others were denied — point to inconsistencies in how resident needs and contractual terms are handled.

Safety, medical oversight, and amenities are frequently cited as positives. Reviewers mention medications being administered according to doctor specifications, top-notch medical and dental care coordination, and monitors in each room for safety. The facility’s small, private format and visible cleanliness help families feel their loved ones are safe and well cared for. Activity programming, however, receives less favorable mention; a few reviewers noted a scarcity of activities, suggesting that social and engagement offerings could be an area for development.

In summary, Greenview Living appears to deliver strong day-to-day caregiving in a clean, comfortable, and medically attentive setting, with many families reporting improved resident wellbeing and a high level of trust in staff. The main recurring concerns center on administrative and policy matters — refundable/contract terms, pet policy enforcement, requirements for families to provide certain supplies, occasional reports of unlicensed service providers, and mixed experiences around meal quality. Prospective families should weigh the consistently praised caregiving, cleanliness, and safety features against the reported administrative inconsistencies. It would be prudent for new residents’ families to obtain clear, written agreements about refund policies, pet visitation rules, charges for ancillary services (like baths), and what supplies the facility will provide versus what families must supply, and to confirm licensing and credentials for any on-site service providers.

    About Greenview Living

Greenview Living sits in a quiet Copley, Ohio neighborhood and has served seniors since 2011 with different care options like assisted living, memory care, independent living, nursing home care, skilled nursing, home health care, hospice, and short-term respite stays, and they also provide home care with aides if someone needs services at home instead of in a facility, so you really find a wide range of choices there. The place stays small with just five or six residents at a time, which makes it easier for staff and residents to know each other and for the staff-sometimes including an LPN in charge-to keep track of everyone's needs, whether that's help with things like bathing, dressing, medication, or more advanced needs like high acuity care, stroke recovery, or incontinence support, so nobody has to worry about getting lost in a crowd. The building only has one floor, making it easier to get around, and each resident can choose a private room or suite-there are four one-bedroom rooms and one two-bedroom suite that even has its own balcony-and everyone gets a private bath, plus the showers are wheelchair accessible and the hallways wide. There's a full kitchen and dining room at the center of the house, where staff serve homemade meals three times a day, and residents can eat whenever they feel like it because there's no fixed meal schedule, and if you need kosher or vegetarian food, that's available too, so there's a lot of flexibility.

The home has a big outdoor balcony that runs the length of the building and a porch off the west side living room where folks can sit, look out at the neighborhood, or enjoy a summer breeze, and there's room for informal gatherings or just quiet time alone. The inside space is open and comfortable, with a common living area, a beauty salon and barbershop, and a dining hall, plus some private places to relax if you'd rather. Activities include daily exercises, arts and crafts, movie nights, devotional services on site, and sometimes group trips if someone wants to go out. The staff, who speak English and Croatian, aim to be helpful, friendly, and kind, so it feels more like a big family with everyone looking out for each other, and there's always someone around because staffing is 24 hours with an emergency call system in every room. Special attention goes to residents with memory issues like Alzheimer's or other types of dementia, and the house's layout and routines try to keep people comfortable and less confused, with programs, therapies, and a secure environment meant for memory care.

Residents get help with personal care, laundry, dry cleaning, medication reminders, and transportation if they want to go out or need a ride to appointments, plus there's resident parking. Those who need therapy like physical, occupational, or speech can get those services right there, and nurses help with medical needs and medication management, and if residents ever reach a stage where hospice care or high-level nursing is needed, the staff can provide that too. Families can contact the Ohio Department of Health for more resources about the place, but something to keep in mind is that Greenview Living isn't BBB Accredited, though it is licensed and run as a corporation, with Ms. Danka Malivuk as the business manager. The community stands out for being small and offering personalized care, staff that stick around and really know the residents, a calm and safe home atmosphere, lots of ways to keep busy or keep to yourself, and the freedom to choose your own routine day to day.
