    Beautiful campus and excellent care

I stayed here for rehab and then transitioned to assisted living - the campus is new, beautiful and very clean. The nurses, therapists, aides and admin (Ashley in admissions stood out) were professional, kind and went above and beyond; therapy, nursing and responsive communication gave me real peace of mind. Food was great, activities were engaging, visits were flexible when allowed - I highly recommend (call ahead during COVID restrictions).

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is strongly positive, with repeated praise for the facility, the staff, the quality of rehabilitation and nursing care, the dining program, and the breadth of activities. Multiple reviewers emphasize Gateway Springs Health Campus as a newer, class-A campus that is very clean, well-kept, and attractively landscaped. The facility’s layout and common areas are described as ample and inviting, rooms (including semi-private designs) as well thought-out, and the campus atmosphere as quiet and home-like. Several reviewers specifically mention a pleasant smell and consistently clean rooms and linens.

Care quality is one of the most frequently lauded themes. Reviewers call out responsive, attentive, compassionate nursing and aide staff as well as thorough medical oversight. The rehab teams (PT/OT) are repeatedly described as exceptional — reviewers report successful recoveries, feeling safe during rehab, and strong, effective therapy. There are multiple examples of staff going above and beyond: staying late to provide emotional or clinical support, delivering compassionate end-of-life care (including emotional support to families and personal touches such as singing), and accommodating residents’ pets. Communication is another recurring strength: families report proactive updates and strong coordination across departments, producing peace of mind when loved ones are in the facility’s care.

The dining program and nutrition receive significant praise. Gateway’s in-house kitchen and fresh, varied menu (including a soup and salad bar and regular drinks/snacks) are highlighted as delicious and nutritionally balanced. Specific outcomes are noted — one resident gained 25 pounds and reviewers mention that the food contributed to recovery and improved well-being. Special dining events (family dinners, monthly Sunday brunches, luncheons with featured speakers) are appreciated for both food quality and social connection.

Activities and social programming are extensive and well-received. Reviewers describe an active calendar with resident outings (ice cream runs, park trips), therapy animal visits, Lunch & Learn educational talks, monthly luncheons, and routine social events that foster engagement and friendship. The overall tone in these comments is that residents are engaged in life and enjoy plentiful opportunities for socialization, learning, and recreation.

Management, admissions, and teamwork are also consistently commended. The admissions staff (Ashley is singled out by name for outstanding service) and executive leadership receive positive mention for being helpful and welcoming. Several reviews emphasize effective teamwork between administration, nursing, therapy, dietary, and facilities staff — reviewers note that every department seems to pull together to meet residents’ needs. Security and visiting policies are described as appropriately managed: secure access with generally flexible visiting arrangements that still allow families to be involved.

Despite the largely positive themes, there are a few notable concerns to flag. One summary states isolated complaints of neglect/abuse and mentions state involvement and a very poor rating; this stands in stark contrast to the preponderance of favorable reviews and should be investigated further by prospective families (check state inspection reports and complaint records for context). Several reviewers also note that COVID-19 lockdowns affected visiting — an operational reality during the pandemic that may still influence visitation policies at times. Finally, some comments reference problems with agency or temporary nursing staff in other facilities; while not generally attributed to Gateway, prospective families may want to confirm staffing stability and the facility’s reliance (or not) on agency staff during peak times.

In summary, the reviews portray Gateway Springs Health Campus as a modern, clean, and well-maintained facility with strong clinical and rehabilitative capabilities, excellent food and nutrition programs, a vibrant activities schedule, and a compassionate, communicative staff that often provides care beyond expectations. The overall pattern is one of high resident and family satisfaction, improved health outcomes, and a welcoming, home-like environment. However, the presence of at least one mention of serious complaints (neglect/abuse with state involvement) is an outlier that warrants verification through state inspection and complaint records before making final placement decisions. Prospective residents and families should balance the highly favorable firsthand reports with formal inspection data and ask the community about current staffing models and any residual visitation policies stemming from COVID-19.
