    Decent staff but rooms average

I was disappointed. The staff were fairly prompt and the place is decent and semi-clean, but the rooms and amenities are average and not high-end. I would not recommend this - choose other living arrangements close to family.

    About Sterling Place

Sterling Place sits at 160 W Main St in Mount Sterling, Ohio, in a small 16-room building that feels about average and is meant for people who want a bit of help without giving up their independence, and you'll find both board and care as well as regular assisted living, independent living, nursing home care, and memory care services there, depending on what a person needs over time, and you don't have live-in staff but someone's always on duty to help out, around the clock. Folks here can get help moving between the bed and wheelchair, have their medicine managed, and receive personal care or help with things like bathing, meals, and getting dressed, and for those with diabetes, there's support to keep insulin and health in check, plus incontinence and non-ambulatory care are available so you're covered if you become less mobile or need more support. The building itself isn't fancy, but there's a front porch where you can get some air, indoor common rooms for talking, relaxing, or doing group activities, as well as communal kitchens and sitting areas if you want to spend time with others, and the staff keeps the place clean and takes care of the maintenance, so you don't have to worry about that. You'll get regular chef-prepared meals so cooking isn't needed, which is good if you'd rather not bother with a stove, and the schedule includes activities to keep everyone moving, thinking, and chatting, so there's a sense of community among the people living there. For spiritual needs, Sterling Place offers devotional gatherings at places off-site, as well as chances to join in on activities away from the building itself if you like to get out, and respite care's available if a caregiver needs a break for a while. Seniors who are independent and in good health are welcome, but extra help is there as people's needs change, and there's always support for folks who want to keep living their own way for as long as possible, so you get personalized care in a straightforward environment where life can feel simple and safe, and the place is managed by Mr. Eddie Thomas, Principal, though it doesn't have accreditation from the BBB and isn't a member of OACFA. If someone's looking for a 55+ community that's not too big, with a familiar kind of comfort, basic but clean rooms, and support when you need it, Sterling Place is an option right in Mount Sterling that lets people age in place and get the care that fits their situation without too much fuss.
