    Welcoming staff and peaceful living

I live in this senior community on the ground floor in a one-bedroom and it's been lovely. The quiet, peaceful setting and fabulous, helpful staff and management - who even helped with furniture and welcomed us with dishes - made me feel at home; I'm very thankful.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Evergreen Retirement Village are uniformly positive, emphasizing a calm, welcoming atmosphere and strong interpersonal support from staff and management. Reviewers repeatedly describe the community as peaceful and quiet, with many noting that residents feel immediately at home. The dominant themes are friendliness and helpfulness of staff, a warm and homelike environment, and satisfaction with apartment options and management.

Staff and management: Staff behavior is the most consistently praised aspect. Reviews call staff kind, friendly, and helpful, and there are specific mentions of staff going beyond basic duties—such as assisting with furniture and helping newcomers settle in. Management receives explicit positive recognition as well, described as "fabulous," which reinforces the impression of effective leadership and responsive administration. The combination of approachable staff and praised management suggests a strong culture of resident support and attention to individual needs.

Facilities and accommodations: Reviewers highlight the housing mix and setting. Evergreen offers ground-floor apartment options and one- and two-bedroom units, which reviewers view positively—these points are relevant for seniors who prefer limited stairs or smaller homes. The village is repeatedly described as being in a quiet area, reinforcing the community’s appeal to those seeking a tranquil living environment. While these details are praised, reviews do not elaborate on building amenities (fitness, therapy, common areas) or on the condition of units beyond helpfulness with furniture, so impressions of physical facilities are favorable but limited in scope.

Dining and hospitality: Several reviewers mention "welcoming dishes," indicating that meals or dining experiences are seen as pleasant and inviting. This supports the broader theme of hospitality that permeates the reviews. However, there are no detailed comments about the variety, dietary accommodations, meal quality beyond being welcoming, or dining schedules, so while dining is positively referenced, specifics are sparse.

Care, activities, and services: The reviews emphasize social and practical support but do not provide explicit information about medical care, nursing services, medication management, or formal care levels. Similarly, there are no detailed mentions of organized activities, entertainment programs, transportation services, or wellness offerings. The absence of commentary in these areas means reviewers either did not evaluate them strongly or chose to focus their feedback on staff interactions, housing, and the general environment.

Notable patterns and gaps: The strongest and most repeated messages are about the personal warmth of staff, the homelike and welcoming atmosphere, management quality, and the suitability of the apartments in a quiet setting. There are no negative points raised in the provided summaries. At the same time, important operational aspects—clinical care quality, activity programming, costs, accessibility beyond ground-floor options, and physical amenities—are not addressed in the summaries. Prospective residents or family members should view the positive interpersonal indicators as strong selling points but seek additional information or tours to evaluate medical services, activity offerings, pricing, and other facility features not covered by current reviewers.

Conclusion: Based on the collected summaries, Evergreen Retirement Village projects a very favorable image centered on friendliness, helpfulness, and a peaceful, homelike environment with sensible apartment choices for seniors. Management and staff receive particular praise for creating a welcoming experience, including hands-on help with moving and furnishing. To form a complete picture, interested parties should follow up on care-level options, activity schedules, and specific facility amenities, since those areas are not detailed in the reviews provided.

    About Evergreen Retirement Village

Evergreen Retirement Village, also known as Evergreen Village of New Concord, sits on peaceful, landscaped grounds at 201 Lakeside Dr in New Concord, Ohio, and offers a quiet, welcoming place for seniors to live. The community has been around since 1971 and runs as a nonprofit, relying on grants from groups like the Rogge Cora E Memorial Foundation and the J William and Mary Straker Charitable Foundation, without government funding or support from larger organizations. Seniors can find a range of care, including independent living for active residents, assisted living for those who need some help with daily tasks, and memory care for people with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, all in a safe and comfortable setting. Staff members known for being friendly and kind make sure that everyone feels like they belong, and many residents and their families rate the community highly for its sense of friendship and activity.

Residents at Evergreen Retirement Village often enjoy nutritious meals, beauty salon services, full-time activity directors, and outings or trips organized for social connection and wellness. There are activities to help everyone stay engaged-physically, mentally, and emotionally-which is nice when some seniors want more than just the usual daily routine. The community picks up awards like Best of Senior Living and Best of Senior Living All Star, which shows that folks think highly of the care provided. The grounds look beautiful and the living spaces make for a calm and comfortable setting, which is good for people who like peaceful surroundings and quiet moments. The Village also offers respite care, rehabilitation care, and home care services, making it easier for residents to get what they need, even if their needs change over time.

Evergreen Retirement Village especially works to keep housing affordable for older people through subsidized units based on individual need, which helps those with lower incomes stay in a safe and social place. There aren't any full-time employees; instead, they have a President and an Asset Manager, plus staff who take care of activities and residents. The Village does a good job of balancing independence with support, making sure each resident feels secure, well cared for, and included. Seniors living there have the chance to stay active, enjoy the community, and get personalized help if they need it, without having to move somewhere else as their needs change.
