Springfield Masonic Community sits at 3 Masonic Drive in a quiet, landscaped area of Springfield, Ohio, and lets people live in a way that fits their changing needs as they age, because it's a Continuing Care Retirement Community, or CCRC, which means residents can move between care levels all on one campus. The place welcomes adults aged 55 and older, whether they want independent living in spacious garden villas or apartments, or need more support in assisted living or memory care settings, and nobody has to be a Mason to live here. Residents find both privacy and friendship, with options for private or couples' rooms, social spaces, and even Jack and Jill bathrooms in some units, and the grounds stay lovely all year, with outdoor patios for relaxing, well-kept lawns, and nice holiday light displays. There's a skilled nursing facility for people who need full-time nursing or intermediate care, as well as short-term rehab between the hospital and home, and if someone's living with Alzheimer's or dementia, the Pathways Memory Support Neighborhood offers licensed skilled care and programs like Connecting Realities that focus on each person. The independent living and assisted living units come with things like kitchens, laundry, weekly housekeeping, three meals a day, emergency call systems, high-speed internet, and cable TV, and if folks need daily help-like with medicine, dressing, or bathing-the staff can adjust support to what fits best. The whole place is maintenance-free, so nobody has to cut grass, shovel snow, or worry about repairs, and amenities on campus include a fitness center, outdoor exercise equipment, a beauty salon, and access to a golf course at Windy Knoll, free for residents who like to play. Meals are made with good ingredients and there are chef-prepared dinners, and folks can spend time at woodworking, crafts, or social events, even taking part in things like happy hours, ziplining, or canoeing if they want to try something new. Residents have a lot of ways to connect, including free membership to United Senior Services for activities, and the community's won awards for engaging people socially, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Pets are welcome, adding to the sense of home, and the staff have a reputation for being helpful and joyful, making the place feel welcoming for families and visitors, and people can always talk with staff about paying for care-with options like private pay, insurance, savings, or veterans' benefits. There's no entrance fee, leases are flexible with only a 30-day notice to leave, and prices are all-inclusive, so folks won't get surprise bills later. The licensed health care center provides private rooms for 24-hour care and is certified by the State of Ohio, Medicare, and Medicaid, including full rehab services like physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Springfield Masonic Community aims to let older adults live with as much independence and dignity as possible, with activities and support that meet different needs, all in a calm environment run by The Ohio Masonic Communities nonprofit group.

Friendly staff, clean facility, pricey
I live in the independent-living community - the staff are wonderfully friendly and responsive, and the facility is spotless and well maintained. My apartment is large and comfortable (I'd like a kitchenette), and dining feels restaurant-style with generally good food. There are friendly residents, lots of social events, and easy access to help, though activities have been reduced by staffing and therapies can be disorganized. It takes a little while to learn the layout and it's pricey, but overall I'd recommend it.
