    Friendly staff, clean grounds, mixed

I toured and now live here - the staff are overwhelmingly friendly, helpful and attentive, the building and grounds are clean and park-like, studios are spacious with walk-in tubs and emergency cords, and there are lots of activities, a media room/library, daily outings and a cafeteria with menu ordering. Downsides: it's an older building with some dark hallways and no central air, workouts are tiny/too easy, food quality can be inconsistent/cold, and the community is understaffed with uneven aide quality; I also ran into laundry/linen miscommunications and extra charges. Overall I feel safe and comfortable and would recommend it if you verify current staffing, meal service and exact costs (Medicaid accepted after two years).

The living spaces are private and roomy, each with kitchenettes, cable access, and emergency alert systems, which helps residents feel both safe and comfortable. There's a focus on connecting with others, with dining rooms where chefs serve meals made to suit each person, and there are many activities like fitness classes, book clubs, and group outings, all meant to keep minds and bodies active. Pets are welcome at Oakleaf Village, so residents don't have to leave their companions behind. The grounds and common areas bring a homelike feeling, and community spaces-including a library and outdoor spots-make relaxing easy. Assisted living services help people with daily needs like bathing and taking medication, and there are weekly housekeeping, laundry for personal items and linens, and help with getting to doctor appointments.

For memory care, The Grove at Oakleaf Village stands next door and welcomes those with dementia or Alzheimer's, offering private and shared suites, secure areas to prevent wandering, and programs built around each person's history and interests. Nurses check on health needs with regular consultations and monthly well-being reviews. Incontinence care is available, with plans that change as needs change. The whole place is set up in small neighborhoods with family-style dining, trying to make everyone feel at home and create good connections among residents. There are activity calendars, social events, and educational programs to give people reasons to gather and stay engaged. Oakleaf Village gives compassion, dignity, and respect a central place, building its support around each resident's own story and aiming to keep them as independent as possible for as long as possible. Being run by Sunset Retirement Communities, the facility stays focused on providing comfort, safety, and a wide range of care options to fit what each senior needs now and as time goes on.
