    Attentive staff and maintenance-free living

I loved living here - the staff, led by DON Lindsey, are attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely caring. The beautiful, well-maintained facility and interior, roomy apartments with in-unit laundry, pool and great walking trails made maintenance-free living easy. Restaurant-style dining, plenty of activities and welcoming, family-like neighbors created a warm, community feel; overall I'm very pleased with the care and service.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviewers portray Good Samaritan Society - St Martin Village as a well-presented independent living community with a welcoming atmosphere and several strong amenity features. The property is described as attractive and inviting, with spacious apartments and in-unit laundry, an on-site pool, and nicely arranged dining and common areas. Tour experiences are characterized as transparent and informative, and many visitors emphasized the friendliness and knowledgeability of staff.

Care and staff: Staff interactions are a clear strength in the reviews. Prospective residents and families describe staff as helpful, friendly, and forthcoming during tours and move-in discussions. While these comments speak positively to front-line hospitality and admissions transparency, there is limited direct information about clinical care levels; reviewers emphasize interpersonal conduct and service orientation more than medical- or care-plan detail.

Dining and meal service: Dining is presented as a distinctive feature—restaurant-style service, pleasant dining rooms, and generally positive restaurant service impressions. At the same time, several comments raise operational concerns about the food program: perceptions that meals could be improved, a limited meal schedule (two meals daily), and practices described as encouraging leftover use. These items point to possible inconsistencies in food quality, menu variety, or meal-management protocols that prospective residents should clarify with management.

Activities, facilities, and community life: The facility appears to support an active lifestyle with exercise classes and other organized activities. Common areas and the dining room are described as inviting, contributing to the positive community feel. The resident mix includes a smaller male population, which is likely to influence social dynamics. Cost and practicality: Cost is a recurring theme—several reviewers characterized the community as expensive or not practical for certain budgets or needs. That suggests potential limitations in perceived value for money or a mismatch between the offering and what some prospective residents require.

Notable patterns and guidance: Strengths center on staff approachability, attractive physical spaces, and amenity breadth. Weaknesses cluster around dining operations, meal scheduling, and affordability. Prospective residents and families would benefit from asking management specific questions about meal frequency and menu variety, policies on leftover handling, average monthly costs and what is included, and the scope of clinical or care services available. A visit during a mealtime and a review of sample menus and a fee breakdown would help assess fit for individual care needs and budgets.
