    Clean caring warm family community

My loved one lives here and I'm very pleased - the building is clean, well-maintained and up-to-date, the staff are friendly, compassionate and attentive to residents and families, and the atmosphere feels warm, loving and inclusive. The open dining with small tables, lots of activities and good amenities create a fun, family-like community. Overall a very good choice.

Multiple reviewers highlight the facility as loving and inclusive, calling out both the social environment and the physical upkeep as clear strengths. There are no specific negative trends or concerns reported in the provided summaries.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme across reviews is the quality of caregiving. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, compassionate, caring, and attentive โ€” not only to residents but also responsive to family members. Several summaries explicitly say residents are treated like family, which indicates a personalized approach to care and a culture that prioritizes relationship-building. The repeated mention of attentiveness suggests consistent day-to-day follow-through rather than occasional high points.

Facilities and cleanliness: Reviewers note the building is well-maintained and up-to-date. Cleanliness is emphasized both visually and olfactorily (reviews say it "looks and smells" clean), which supports impressions of good housekeeping and infection-control awareness. One distinct point is that this location has a better building layout than other locations, implying practical advantages such as easier navigation, better room arrangement, or more comfortable communal spaces compared to sister facilities.

Dining, activities, and community life: The dining setup is described as an open dining area where residents sit at individual small tables (typically 5โ€“6 per table), supporting socialization in manageable groups. Activity programming appears robust โ€” reviewers mention lots to do, good amenities, and a fun, inclusive community. The combination of frequent activities and a friendly social atmosphere suggests residents have ample opportunities for engagement and social connection.

Management and family engagement: Although specific management actions are not detailed, the consistently positive descriptions of staff behavior and facility condition imply effective oversight. Multiple reviewers call out staff attentiveness to families, which indicates open communication and family-friendly practices. The overall tone suggests management supports a culture that enables staff to be compassionate and responsive.

Notable patterns and limitations: The reviews present a coherent, positive picture without reported negatives in the provided summaries. The most frequently mentioned strengths are the loving, family-like environment; attentive, compassionate staff; cleanliness and modern, well-maintained facilities; and an active, inclusive community with varied activities. Because the supplied summaries contain only favorable observations, no specific concerns, service gaps, or recurring problems could be identified from this set of reviews.

About Good Samaritan Society - Wagner

Good Samaritan Society - Wagner is a non-profit senior living community that's set to reopen in the summer of 2025 after renovations, and right now there isn't much public information available about the facility itself, but it does have a strong record of care, showing zero hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days and providing pneumococcal vaccines to every long-term resident. The facility holds a long-term care quality grade of B-plus and a short-term care grade of A-minus, which means residents generally receive good nursing support and strong rehabilitation for those recovering from illness or surgery, and it has also earned an A-plus for its facility inspection. Registered nursing staff give medical attention and the staff puts in the hours needed to care for residents.

Good Samaritan Society - Wagner will offer independent living, assisted living, memory care, long-term care, continuing care, skilled nursing, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and home care services for people over 55, as well as respite care, and care homes. The facility has services like incontinence care, diabetic care, non-ambulatory care, and meals. There are personal care and homemaking services, plus amenities like refurbished lounges, a chapel, and common areas that residents can spend time in, as well as devotional activities and offsite trips. The rooms and common areas are getting upgrades with new bathrooms, a central bathing suite on the 500 wing, new kitchen and dining space, remodeled nurses' station, improved flooring, lighting, fixtures, and larger rooms with new TVs. Specialized healthcare services include inpatient rehab, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cardiac therapy, pain management, wound care, nutritional counseling, stroke recovery, IV antibiotic therapy, and recreational therapy.

The staff aims to give compassionate care and make sure the services match what each resident needs and wants, and the community tries to feel home-like by offering things like residents' favorite chairs and outdoor birdfeeders. There are also resident and family councils, so people living there and their families can have a say in how things are run. Good Samaritan Society - Wagner is part of the larger Good Samaritan Society, and they give tours for prospective residents, with facilities you can visit during community tours. The community has a range of healthcare services and amenities meant to make life easier and help residents feel independent, and they are working to reopen a safe, updated space for seniors in 2025.
