    Private three-resident home, highly recommended

I couldn't be happier with my experience at this private, three-resident home. The dedicated owners (on-site 24/7) and caring staff treat everyone like family - the facility is absolutely beautiful, spotless, and homey with a porch swing, outdoor seating and well-maintained common rooms. Meals are healthy and varied, activities (exercise trainer, library, outings, games) are plentiful, and my health and mental well-being have noticeably improved. I give them my highest recommendation.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews of The Porch Swing Assisted Living Home are overwhelmingly positive. Reviewers consistently emphasize a homelike, beautifully maintained environment and exceptional, personalized care. Across summaries there is a strong, recurring theme that residents are treated like family, with many reviewers citing improvements in both physical health and mental well-being after placement.

Care quality and staff: The most prominent strengths lie in the attentiveness and compassion of the caregiving team and ownership. Multiple reviewers explicitly describe staff and owners as dedicated, caring, and "second to none." The owner’s 24/7 presence is repeatedly mentioned as a reassurance, and reviewers note that this contributes to consistency of care and close monitoring of residents. The small scale of the home enables individualized attention; caregivers are described as kind and attentive, providing loving, family-like treatment. That said, several reviewers pointed out that they did not meet many other staff members and most interactions were with the owner, which raises a consistent observational note about limited staff visibility and potential over-reliance on the owner.

Facilities and environment: The facility’s physical environment receives high marks. Reviewers describe a well-maintained exterior with inviting outdoor seating and a porch swing, comfortable and homey main rooms, and an overall beautiful, extremely clean house. The dining room is described as quaint and appealing, contributing to the homelike atmosphere. The private-home model (noted as housing only three residents in one account) is highlighted as a key positive for those seeking a quiet, intimate setting and close, personalized care.

Dining, activities, and amenities: Reviewers praise the dining experience for healthy, varied, and delicious meals, including special meals that add variety and occasion. Programming and amenities are broad and active for a small facility: a well-stocked library, varied activities such as reading, socializing, games and movies, an exercise room with a weekly trainer, and organized outings to concerts, shows, and art galleries. These offerings are presented as complementing the small-home environment and supporting residents’ physical and social well-being.

Notable patterns and considerations: Two interrelated patterns stand out. First, the private, very small size and round-the-clock owner involvement are repeatedly cited as major benefits, leading to personalized, family-like care. Second, those same features introduce potential limitations: a very small resident population naturally limits peer diversity and social variety, and several reviewers noted they did not encounter other staff beyond the owner, which could be a concern for families wanting to understand staffing depth and backup coverage. Prospective residents and families should consider whether they prefer the intimacy and individualized attention of a small home versus the broader social and staffing structures of a larger assisted-living community.

Recommendation and practical advice: Reviewers give The Porch Swing the highest recommendations and frequently emphasize the exceptional quality of care. The facility appears especially well suited for individuals who value a homelike setting, close family-style attention, cleanliness, and curated activities and outings. When evaluating if it’s the right fit, potential residents or families should ask specific questions about staffing beyond the owner (roles, number, and backup plans), typical resident census and turnover, and how social needs are met given the small population. Overall, the review summaries paint The Porch Swing as a small, meticulously kept, and warmly run assisted-living home with strong, personalized care and an engaging program of meals and activities.
