    Compassionate attentive care with improvements

I placed my loved one at Countryside Senior Living and I'm very happy. The staff - especially nurse Allyson and administrator Troy - are caring, responsive, and consistently go above and beyond; the community is clean, homey, and well maintained with private apartments, three meals (dietary accommodations), engaging activities, transportation, and daily updates that give me peace of mind. New ownership is making positive improvements; occasional understaffing has affected cleanliness and the menu could be broader, and there can be COVID-related entry waits. Overall I highly recommend Countryside for compassionate, individualized care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Reviewers consistently praise Countryside Senior Living of Wichita Falls for its warm, home-like atmosphere, compassionate and attentive staff, and a well-maintained facility. Multiple comments highlight individualized attention and staff who go above and beyond routine duties, creating trust and peace of mind for families. Named staff members (notably nurse Allyson and administrator Troy) receive repeated, specific praise for leadership, responsiveness, and providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Care quality and staff performance emerge as the dominant strengths. Reviews repeatedly describe caregiving as loving, caring, and professional, with strong teamwork and proactive nursing oversight. Medication management and assistance with meals are noted as effective, and reviewers emphasize that staff know residents’ needs, answer questions, and communicate daily with families. Several reviewers explicitly say the staff make residents feel at home, and many recommend the community highly for loved ones.

The facility and physical environment are also frequently commended. Descriptions include beautiful interior and exterior spaces, newly remodeled rooms, a clean and safe environment, a comfortable dining area, and a pleasant front patio. The small community size and non-institutional dining contribute to a homey feel. Practical services such as housekeeping, weekly linen washing, three meals per day, and dietary accommodations are reported consistently. Transportation services (van for shopping and outings), pet friendliness, and programming such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, bingo, movies, and holiday parties round out the offerings highlighted by reviewers.

Dining and activities receive generally favorable comments: meals are described as well-balanced, accommodating dietary needs, and served in a welcoming, non-institutional setting. Activities are varied and engaging, including exercise classes, arts and crafts, bingo, holiday events, and outings. These elements support social engagement and contribute to families’ sense of reassurance about residents’ quality of life.

Management and recent changes show a mixed but improving picture. Several reviews mention new ownership or a new director and describe positive leadership, ongoing updates, and tangible improvements. Administrator Troy and the nursing leadership receive specific commendations. At the same time, a few reviews caution that the community is in transition and that some improvements are still underway, indicating management is actively working but not all issues are fully resolved.

Concerns are limited but consistent enough to note. A few reviewers report periods of understaffing that have impacted cleanliness; this appears to be intermittent rather than universal but is the most commonly mentioned negative. Some reviewers feel the menu could be more extensive. A COVID-related entry wait was also noted by one reviewer, reflecting pandemic-era protocols rather than a core operational deficiency. Finally, while new ownership and leadership are frequently mentioned positively, there are comments that additional improvements remain necessary as changes continue to be implemented.

In summary, reviewers portray Countryside Senior Living of Wichita Falls as a caring, well-run, and comfortable community with strong staff commitment, thoughtful resident-centered services, and a pleasant physical environment. The main issues to monitor are occasional staffing gaps that can affect housekeeping and the desire for expanded menu options, but overall the dominant impression is of high-quality, personalized care and strong family satisfaction. Many reviewers explicitly recommend the community for loved ones and emphasize the professionalism, compassion, and responsiveness of the team.

People here get three meals a day made in their kitchen, often Texas style, and the meals get planned with a registered dietitian, plus there's help for special diets if you need that. The building has carefully designed interiors and the staff takes good care of the outside too, keeping up with the grounds and flowers so residents can sit out in the courtyard or walk the garden trails. This spot is pet-friendly, so some residents have pets that are welcome around the place.

You'll find private and companion suites, and the rooms have kitchenettes with a small fridge and microwave. Each suite comes with cable TV and WiFi. Safety gets attention, so every bathroom has grab bars, each room has smoke detectors and alarms, and the building is gated with an emergency alert system. There's a nurse on-site full time and a staff on duty 24 hours a day to provide clinical oversight and care, including medication management, help with bathing, dressing, and getting around, plus support with daily activities.

For daily life, there's an Activity Program Director who arranges things to do, like tai chi, sing-alongs, Bible study, cooking classes, happy hours, pet therapy, and movie nights. The monthly rent covers most utilities. Residents can eat in the main dining room with others or order room service. The place offers scheduled transportation, religious services, and helps Veterans Affairs aid applicants. Memory care for those with dementia or memory diseases is available, with staff trained for that specialty. Fitness programs and wellness activities happen regularly, and families are invited for monthly family nights. A long-term care ombudsman is around to help with any concerns or complaints.
