    Attentive staff, clean home, recommended

I'm very pleased with Countryside Senior Living - a beautiful, clean, homey place with private apartments and attentive, highly trained staff. Nurse Allyson and administrator Troy lead a caring team that communicates daily, helps with meals/meds, and consistently goes above and beyond. New ownership is making positive improvements, activities and transportation are available, and families can have peace of mind. I highly recommend it for loved ones.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression Countryside Senior Living of Wichita Falls is frequently described as a small, home-like assisted living community with an attractive, recently updated physical plant and individualized attention. Many accounts emphasize a warm atmosphere, private apartment units, regular housekeeping and linen service, and accessible outdoor spaces. Families and residents often highlight strong personal connections with specific nursing staff and administrators, and praise consistent family communication and responsiveness from leadership. Care and staff Care quality is characterized in many accounts as attentive and compassionate, with individual nurses and the community director singled out for proactive engagement and daily communication with families. This has created a perception of strong bedside advocacy and individualized care plans for many residents. At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns related to staffing stability and turnover; these issues have been associated with intermittent supervision gaps, sanitation/cleanliness inconsistencies during busy periods, and uneven performance on tasks that require consistent staffing presence. Clinical operations and safety Several reviewers raised facility-level concerns about medication administration and supervision. These concerns include credentialing and consistency of medication staff as well as gaps in oversight for residents with higher care needs, particularly those with cognitive impairment. Relatedly, incontinence-care delays and broader supervision gaps for dementia care were noted; these point to potential weaknesses in staffing assignment, supervision patterns, or training for residents with complex needs. Prospective families should ask about staff certifications, nurse-to-resident ratios, and dementia-care protocols. Dining and activities Dining is generally described as home-like rather than institutional, with balanced meals and the ability to accommodate dietary needs. However, there are occasional comments about limited menu variety or inconsistent meal quality. The community offers a range of activities—exercise classes, arts and crafts, bingo, holiday events, and regular outings including weekly shopping trips—which contribute to an engaged, small-community atmosphere. Facilities and amenities The facility itself is often described as clean and newly remodeled in places, with private apartments, comfortable dining areas, and pleasant outdoor seating such as a front patio. At the same time, some reviews referenced outdated equipment in portions of the building, which suggests that capital improvements may be ongoing rather than complete. Housekeeping and laundry services are included, and the community is pet-friendly. Management and transitions Leadership and on-site management receive repeated positive mention; reviewers name proactive administrators and nurses and credit new ownership for visible improvements. That said, ownership and management transitions appear to be active, and a few reviewers described operational disruption during these changes. Cost was cited by at least one source as relatively high for the market; prospective residents should confirm fee structures and inclusions. Notable patterns and recommended questions The overall pattern is one of a community with strong interpersonal care strengths and a pleasant environment, tempered by operational vulnerabilities linked to staffing levels, medication credentialing, and dementia supervision. For families evaluating Countryside Senior Living, recommended questions include: What are current staffing ratios across shifts? How is medication administration credentialed and supervised? What protocols exist for dementia care and for responding to incontinence-care needs? Are recent renovations complete, and what equipment upgrades remain planned? Finally, verify pricing and exactly which services are included in the monthly fee. This summary is intended to synthesize recurring themes from multiple accounts so families can focus inspections and interviews on the operational areas most likely to affect a prospective resident’s daily experience.

About Countryside Senior Living of Wichita Falls

Countryside Senior Living of Wichita Falls sits at 1525 Archer City Hwy in Wichita Falls, TX, and is a small, homelike place with about 50 apartments, all on one level, so you won't be dealing with stairs or elevators. People here get three meals a day made in their kitchen, often Texas style, and the meals get planned with a registered dietitian, plus there's help for special diets if you need that. The building has carefully designed interiors and the staff takes good care of the outside too, keeping up with the grounds and flowers so residents can sit out in the courtyard or walk the garden trails. This spot is pet-friendly, so some residents have pets that are welcome around the place.

You'll find private and companion suites, and the rooms have kitchenettes with a small fridge and microwave. Each suite comes with cable TV and WiFi. Safety gets attention, so every bathroom has grab bars, each room has smoke detectors and alarms, and the building is gated with an emergency alert system. There's a nurse on-site full time and a staff on duty 24 hours a day to provide clinical oversight and care, including medication management, help with bathing, dressing, and getting around, plus support with daily activities.

For daily life, there's an Activity Program Director who arranges things to do, like tai chi, sing-alongs, Bible study, cooking classes, happy hours, pet therapy, and movie nights. Residents also go on trips to places like the local casino, the symphony, and take scenic drives, plus there are regular outings for shopping or medical appointments. Community spaces include a library, arts room, computer lounge, TV room, a hot tub spa, barber and salon, and a general store. Housekeeping, laundry, and linen services are included, with maintenance to handle any issues that come up. Staff offer memory care, assisted living, independent living, nursing home, and continuing care, and each resident can have an individual care plan.

The monthly rent covers most utilities. Residents can eat in the main dining room with others or order room service. The place offers scheduled transportation, religious services, and helps Veterans Affairs aid applicants. Memory care for those with dementia or memory diseases is available, with staff trained for that specialty. Fitness programs and wellness activities happen regularly, and families are invited for monthly family nights. A long-term care ombudsman is around to help with any concerns or complaints.

Countryside Senior Living of Wichita Falls opened a file in mid-2024 and doesn't have a Better Business Bureau accreditation. The community, operated by Enlivant, isn't the newest or flashiest but focuses on being comfortable and dependable for seniors who want a home-like place with help available when it's needed, and residents often comment on the well-kept grounds and the range of activities. Each person here gets a tailored plan, so care matches the need, whether someone's seeking independent living, needs assisted living, or requires memory care or skilled nursing. This facility holds a Texas license (Facility ID: 000840, License No.: 311874) and makes an effort to balance safety, comfort, and dignity for residents living in the Wichita Falls area.
