    Caring staff and comfortable home

I placed my mom here during COVID and I'm very pleased. The staff are exceptionally caring, respectful, and go above and beyond - nurses are skilled, communication was timely, and my mom felt safe, loved, and treated with dignity. The small, homey atmosphere, friendly personnel, and healthy meals made her comfortable. I recommend this facility.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive about the quality of care and the staff at St Michael's Assisted Living. Multiple reviewers emphasize that the staff are kind, respectful, and treat residents with love and dignity. Nurses and caregiving personnel are repeatedly described as well educated and skilled; reviewers report that their relatives felt safe, loved, and well looked after. Communication with families about care issues is noted as timely, and several comments single out staff members for going "above and beyond," indicating consistent, compassionate hands-on care. The facility appears to excel in the human side of assisted living: emotional support, respectful treatment, and attentive caregiving are clear strengths.

Facility condition and atmosphere are more mixed. A number of reviewers praise a small, homey, and homelike environment; some say recent renovations have removed the institutional feel and made the setting more pleasant. At the same time, other reviewers describe older portions of the building as outdated, hospital-like, dark, and lacking natural light. This contrast suggests variability within the property (some wings or rooms may have been updated while others remain older) or changing conditions over time. Several positive comments on a "renovated" and friendlier atmosphere coexist with complaints about an "older building" and areas that still feel institutional.

Accessibility, layout, dining, and activities are recurring practical concerns. Reviewers note that dining and activity spaces can be a long distance from some resident rooms, which creates inconvenience and can be a problem for mobility-limited residents. One explicit accessibility concern is that some residents require wheelchairs and that the facility layout or distances make access difficult. Dining receives generally favorable mentions for healthfulness of meals, but there are complaints about a small variety of menu options. Similarly, activities are described as present but limited in variety and scope — small facility size may constrain programming choices.

Operational and informational issues surfaced in the summaries. A few reviewers warn about misleading photos or expectations, which suggests that marketing materials may not always reflect current conditions. There is also a serious administrative concern in that a reviewer reported the facility closing; that single note should be verified separately, but it is significant and could affect placement decisions. Several reviews referenced care during the COVID-19 period in positive terms, indicating that the facility managed resident care acceptably during a challenging time.

In summary, the strongest and most consistent theme is exceptional, compassionate staff and high-quality personal care — residents are described as being treated with respect, safety, and affection. The most frequent concerns relate to the physical plant (older or inconsistent conditions, dark areas, some institutional-feeling spaces), accessibility and layout (long walks to dining/activities and potential wheelchair access problems), and limited variety in activities and menus. There are also isolated but important notes about potentially misleading visuals and a reported facility closing. Prospective residents and families should weigh the evident strength of caregiving and staff dedication against the building condition and practical accessibility issues, and they should verify current status (renovations completed, activity programming, accessibility accommodations, and whether the facility is still operating) with an in-person visit and direct questions to management.

    About St Michael's Assisted Living

St Michael's Assisted Living provides seniors with personalized care in a safe and homey setting, and they've been serving the community for generations, so there's some real history there, and they handle each resident's unique needs by making a special plan that can change as those needs change, since they really want people to keep as much independence as they can while having the right support. The staff stays around 24 hours every day of the week and they've got nurses, nursing assistants, and therapy help ready when needed, and there's a licensed nurse who checks on wellness regularly and a physician does routine visits, which gives a bit of comfort for families too. Every apartment comes with its own bathroom, heating and cooling controls, and there's emergency call systems and phones in each room for quick help and to keep in touch, and apartments are remodeled and can be decorated with a resident's own furnishings to make it feel like home. Meals are prepared fresh three times each day with snacks available, and the kitchen works with special diets if necessary, and dining can be restaurant-style or community, so people get to pick how they want to eat.

You'll find all the usual assisted living services, like help with dressing, bathing, moving around, medication, diabetes care, incontinence support, checking oxygen, and they'll even help arrange your therapy, weekly lab visits, and laundry or housekeeping, which is honestly handy, and dry cleaning is even an option. There's no mention of pets being allowed, so that piece is missing. The community has a calm, decorated environment with gardens, walking paths, common rooms, a dining hall, movie nights, a library, an arts room, and a salon/barber shop right there onsite, where residents can look after themselves, and there's always some activity happening, like social gatherings, religious programs, outings to nearby parks or restaurants, and a social calendar loaded with events for the mind, body, and spirit, and that's a good way to keep folks engaged and part of something.

Spiritual care gets a lot of attention, with an on-site chaplain, regular devotions, Bible groups, worship services, and faith counseling, and that support helps make people feel supported beyond just the physical stuff, which many appreciate. Families are involved in care planning before and after moving in, so everybody stays on the same page, and the management team works hard to understand what's best for each person, including those needing memory or dementia care, since there are specialized programs for that, and care is available for non-ambulatory residents and those using wheelchairs. Payment's flexible too, and you only pay for what you use, which helps with costs. Utilities and cable are all included, and transportation's arranged for shopping, outings, or appointments, so getting out is possible. Purple Door, LLC, manages the facility and the State of Nevada licenses it under number 0014018, so you know it's regulated. Many say the staff are respectful and kind, and the whole focus is on keeping residents safe, engaged, and as independent as possible in a caring and comfortable environment where needs are met with dignity.
