Our Place I

Our Place I is a Community Based Residential Facility located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, that serves adults and seniors over 18 who live with mental or emotional disorders and need help with daily tasks. It can house up to 18 people in either private or shared bedrooms, and it's made to be warm and home-like, with furnished rooms, communal dining areas, and garden spaces for walking or relaxing. The staff includes certified nursing assistants, mental health technicians, social workers, and activities personnel, most with about seven years of experience. Residents get personal care including help with bathing, dressing, medication, hygiene, and meals, even special diets for things like allergies or diabetes, and there's 24-hour supervision to make sure everyone stays safe. There's memory care for those with cognitive needs, short and long-term substance abuse treatment, and respite and hospice services when needed. Case management by trained social workers and support groups like Peer Support, Family-to-Family, and healing groups for victims of assault are also part of daily life. Programs aim to improve mental health, teach independent living skills such as cooking, laundry, and money management, and support personal growth, with each person getting a plan tailored to their goals. Residents join daily activities like movies, music, games, and community events, and there's access to gardens, common rooms, a book room, recreation areas, and a mobile hairdresser comes by when needed. Transportation is arranged for medical appointments, shopping, and religious services, and the facility encourages family visits with help for scheduling. The setting helps residents practice social skills, learn to use public transit, and join outings or social events to blend into the wider community. Our Place I is intended for people who are ambulatory and able to respond to emergencies without help. It's a licensed Class AA CBRF, and most residents come through county case manager referrals, sometimes by court order for protective placement. Residents can get help with behavioral health concerns like depression, bipolar disorder, addiction, PTSD, and receive counseling, mental health testing, and support for conditions such as OCD and autism.
