    Friendly clean facility; owner concern

I've had a very positive experience - staff are friendly, helpful and cooperative, the small (≈24 residents) facility is very clean, welcoming and nicely arranged with spacious rooms and family-style dining. The activity calendar is full (daily exercise, church services, salon, many social events) and they offer van transport to appointments. I feel confident in day-to-day care, but I'm aware of the owner's criminal record and still have questions about their qualifications and safety oversight.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is predominantly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing a high level of satisfaction across care, staff, facilities, and programming. The facility is described repeatedly as very clean and welcoming, with nicely arranged and spacious rooms. Reviewers express confidence in the quality of care provided and explicitly note a lack of concerns in many cases. The small size of the community—reported as about 24 residents—is presented as part of an intimate, family-style atmosphere rather than a drawback.

Staff and care quality emerge as one of the strongest themes. Descriptors used across reviews include helpful, friendly, and cooperative staff. Several reviews indicate that families feel comfortable and confident in the care their loved ones receive. This positive staff portrayal is reinforced by mentions of attentive service and a welcoming attitude that contributes to residents' and families' sense of trust.

Facilities, cleanliness, and resident spaces are consistently praised. Multiple comments cite a very clean environment and nicely arranged spaces. Rooms are described as spacious, and reviewers highlight an overall welcoming atmosphere. On-site amenities such as a salon are noted, supporting a picture of a facility that attends to both personal care needs and resident comfort.

Dining and activities are also frequent positive points. The facility offers family-style dining, which several reviewers mention favorably. There is a robust and varied activities program: daily exercise, social activities, church services, and a full activity calendar are all specifically cited. This variety appears to support social engagement and physical well-being for residents. Transportation logistics are addressed in reviews as well, with van transportation available for doctor appointments, which is an important practical benefit for families.

However, a notable and significant concern appears across some reviews related to ownership and management. Several summaries reference the owners' criminal record and explicitly raise questions about the owner's qualifications. These mentions create explicit safety concerns regarding care for some reviewers. While the majority of comments about daily operations, staff, and resident life are positive, these management-related issues are serious and stand out as the principal negative theme in the review set.

In summary, the reviews paint Field of Dreams Assisted Living as a small, clean, and welcoming facility with good staff, comfortable rooms, a full slate of activities, family-style dining, and useful transportation services. These strengths contribute to a generally favorable impression and apparent confidence in day-to-day caregiving. That said, the reported concerns about ownership history and qualifications introduce a meaningful caveat that prospective residents and their families should not ignore. Because these management-level issues relate to safety and oversight, anyone considering this facility would be prudent to ask direct questions of management, review licensing and background information, and seek clarification about how ownership matters affect staff oversight and resident safety.

About Field of Dreams Assisted Living

Field of Dreams Assisted Living sits at 505 Belitz Drive in Kiel, Wisconsin, in a quiet spot near churches, stores, and medical services, where seniors live in a home-like setting with twenty-four private rooms and a few double occupancy rooms like Rooms 1, 8, 9, and 20 for those who want to share. The building's got wide hallways and accessible features so folks with walkers, wheelchairs, or just a slower pace can get around without trouble, and every resident gets help with daily tasks like bathing, getting dressed, moving between rooms, and medicine, with a 24-hour call system in place for safety, plus on-site staff and a dedicated RN/Administrator looking after everyone day and night. Meals are all home-cooked right there with options for special diets like diabetes or allergies, and residents share their food around big tables in the dining room, where there's all-day dining and a restaurant-style setup, and sometimes they eat out on the patio or in garden areas that look out over the quiet countryside.

The facility's community-based, licensed as a Community Based Residential Facility, or CBRF, with regular state inspections in Wisconsin to keep everything safe and healthy, and there's a memory care program for folks who need extra help with confusion or mild dementia, with special activities and extra supervision. Residents with spiritual needs can join on-site religious services or join trips out to local churches in the van, which also takes people to doctor's appointments when needed.

Rooms come furnished and can be private or semi-private, with laundry and cleaning done by staff, and there's a beauty and barber salon right inside for haircuts and grooming. The building's got social areas like a library and arts room, walking paths outside, movie nights, and a big comfortable living room for gathering and visiting, and there are community-sponsored events, resident-run programs, and daily activities designed to keep everyone busy and connected, with the staff always happy to help people join in or just relax in the garden.

The staff makes care plans for each person, and families can use respite stays if they need a short break from caregiving at home, knowing their loved one will get help in a safe place. Field of Dreams focuses on comfort, support, and independence, with care types centered on assisted living and memory care, making it a steady, peaceful spot for seniors to live, rest, and enjoy their days with friends, home-cooked food, and the pretty Wisconsin scenery around them. Tours are easy to arrange at any time for those who want a closer look at life in this small, friendly senior community.
