    Attentive compassionate memory care excellent

I'm so grateful for the attentive, compassionate staff who know residents by name and provide individualized memory care. My 97-year-old mom had a smooth, comforting transition into a home-like room, is engaged by excellent activities (exercise, trips, bingo) and well cared for medically in a clean, well-run facility with strong leadership and great communication. I have peace of mind and highly recommend this place.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews for Village Glen Memory Care of Geneva Crossing are overwhelmingly positive and consistently emphasize high-quality, compassionate memory care. Families repeatedly describe staff as caring, attentive, and knowledgeable about dementia care, with many reviewers noting that staff know residents by name and provide individualized attention. Multiple comments highlight the smooth transition from home to the facility, which families found comforting and professionally managed.

Care quality and clinical support: Reviewers praise the facility's memory care expertise and report that residents receive effective Alzheimer’s/dementia care. Nurses are described as communicative and open to family suggestions, and hospice support is available when needed. Staff teamwork and long tenure among caregivers are seen as stabilizing factors that contribute to consistent, trusted care. Several anecdotes point to positive recoveries and improved resident mood (including a 97-year-old resident), reinforcing perceptions of competent clinical oversight.

Staff, culture and management: A dominant theme is the compassionate culture cultivated by caregivers and leadership. Reviews call out specific leadership (Andy) and cite strong management, responsiveness from administrative staff, and outstanding communication as reasons families feel reassured. Staff stability and long-tenured employees are presented as strengths that generate familiarity and trust. The tone across reviews suggests a warm, homey culture where residents are treated with dignity and personal attention.

Activities and programming: Programming receives repeated praise for being active and stimulating: exercise classes, field trips, bingo nights, and fun events like ice cream activities are specifically mentioned. Activity planning is described as excellent and engaging, contributing to resident contentment and stimulation. One recurring suggestion — the main noted area for improvement — is to offer more opportunities for stimulating activities, indicating that while programming is strong, some families would like increased frequency or variety.

Facilities and environment: The physical environment is framed as attractive and clean. Reviews describe home-like rooms where residents can bring familiar furnishings, immaculate cleanliness, effective maintenance, and a beautiful neighborhood setting. These features are tied to residents’ comfort and families’ peace of mind.

Dining and daily life: Food service is positively mentioned; reviewers say meals are good and residents are content. Combined with personalized care routines, these elements contribute to a sense of safety and well-being for residents.

Notable patterns and limitations: The reviews are highly consistent and almost uniformly favorable, with little to no negative feedback recorded. The only recurring concern is a request for additional/stimulating activities. Because critical feedback is scarce, it’s important to note that the available summaries may reflect a selection bias toward satisfied families. Nevertheless, across topics — staff, care quality, activities, facilities, and management — the dominant pattern is strong satisfaction, trust, and recommendation from family members.

Bottom line: Village Glen Memory Care of Geneva Crossing is portrayed as a well-run, compassionate memory care community with strong leadership, experienced and stable staff, effective dementia-focused care, engaging programming, clean and home-like facilities, and good communication with families. Families report peace of mind and frequently recommend the facility, with the only common suggestion being to expand or increase stimulating activity opportunities.

About Village Glen Memory Care of Geneva Crossing

Village Glen Memory Care of Geneva Crossing, found at 723 S Curtis Street in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, is a medium-sized assisted living and memory care facility focused on helping seniors with dementia and Alzheimer's disease, and you'll see right away how everything there is set up for people living with these kinds of memory challenges. The community cares for up to 18 residents at a time and has both private suites and rooms for roommates, all fully furnished and tailored for comfort and to feel familiar, so things don't feel too strange. Andrew Kerwin serves as the administrator, and the staff there, from what others report, are helpful, joyful, and create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that's felt throughout the building.

You'll find healthcare staff, including CNAs, available all day and night, along with medication management, help with daily tasks like bathing and dressing, and extra support for anyone who needs help moving around safely. The facility is HCBS compliant and set up as a community-based facility, or CBRF, which means seniors get support while feeling closer to home. There's a lot in place to help the residents keep their dignity and as much independence as possible, with memory care programs, mild cognitive impairment support, dementia waivers, and programs that fit different levels of memory loss.

You'll see that activities are planned everyday, both on-site and offsite, led by a full-time activity director who brings in social, physical, mental, and emotional engagement. That includes a variety of community-sponsored activities, devotional services, field trips, and outings, with transportation available when it's needed. Residents with pets can enjoy the community's pet-friendly attitude, and there's an enclosed courtyard where everyone, including the cats and dogs, can safely spend time outside. There's also a beauty salon inside, so personal care is just a short walk away. Housekeeping and linen services help keep things clean, which is important for those with serious memory impairments.

Meals are planned by chefs and meal planners, using quality ingredients and paying attention to nutritional needs, which matters a lot, especially as people age. Community spaces and common areas are set up for easy socializing, and the design of the building with memory care specific floor plans makes it easier for people to get around without confusion or wandering. The community is known for mental wellness programs and therapies that match memory care needs, and they also offer a CNA training class for community engagement.

Village Glen Memory Care of Geneva Crossing stands out with its local support and resource programs that help families as much as the residents themselves, and it's received recognition like the Best of Senior Living and Best Activities in Senior Living awards. With an average rating of 9.6 out of 10 and a reputation as the highest rated community in Lake Geneva, you'll find that it's a place where serious memory care needs are met with respect and understanding in a secure environment.
