    About Advanced Family Home

Advanced Family Home sits on the west side of Madison, Wisconsin, in a quiet, modern neighborhood with a newly built house from October 2010, and the place is small, with space for only four people, so the staff can really focus on each resident and folks get their own room, often with attached bathrooms that have showers, along with access to internet, phone lines, and cable TV, which is handy for privacy and comfort, and all the doors and bathrooms are built for people using wheelchairs, and you'll see residents with both dogs and cats because pets are welcome. Two owners, who've been in medicine for over 30 years, run the place themselves, and they even offer massage and acupuncture because they're licensed for that, while other care like nursing, a doctor on call, specialists such as a podiatrist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, and a dentist are available and handy when needed. The home is licensed as an Adult Family Home and gives an intermediate level of assistance to folks who can't quite live alone safely but don't need a full nursing home, taking both men and women and offering help with things like bathing, getting dressed, eating, taking medicine, and especially giving memory care for people with Alzheimer's or other dementia, with caregivers who understand how to support people with memory concerns, even customizing care plans for unique needs. Residents get all laundry, bedding, and cleaning taken care of, as well as three cooked meals a day, snacks, and options for vegetarian or kosher food, and a dietitian looks over the menus, with a chef doing much of the cooking, and there's a community kitchen, plus meals can be enjoyed in shared or private spaces, and the staff will residents around the home as needed, including to activities. The home offers services like incontinence care, diabetic care, non-ambulatory care, Parkinson's support, and even hospice and aging in place, meaning the same group can support you most of the way through life, and physical, mental, and emotional well-being are supported through both on-site and off-site activities, including gardening, movie time in the theater room, and community meals, plus beauty and barber services in the salon, and a special focus on making routines feel normal and home-like. Residents can keep independent as much as possible, while also having their health watched over with regular doctor checkups, therapy visits, and help to appointments, and the routine isn't strict so folks can live a lifestyle they're used to, but there are planned activities and devotional services for those who want them, and families can visit, with parking right at the home. Respite care is available, so if a primary family caregiver needs a short break, Advanced Family Home will look after their loved one, and people can join just for a short stay. The home focuses on privacy with single or studio apartments and bathrooms that are easy to use with wheelchairs, while keeping the areas shared, like the common room and kitchen, warm and friendly, and with daily routines that offer socializing when wanted, quiet when needed, and staff always close by, it's clear the goal's to keep everyone safe, respected, and as independent as possible for as long as they'd like to stay. Advanced Family Home is special because it combines medical skill, personal involvement by the owners, thoughtful amenities for comfort, and a home that feels more like living with family than being in a large institution, and although the space isn't big, the care, attention, and range of services make it a well-rounded choice, especially for people who want memory care or just a peaceful place to age.
