    Small caring home; highly recommended

I placed my mom at BeeHive Home in Mount Horeb and couldn't be happier. It's a small, 16-room, home-like community with a low resident-to-staff ratio - the staff are friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely caring. They offer engaging activities (flower planting, music, crafts), thoughtful dietary accommodations, and a warm, safe environment that gave our family real peace of mind. It's more affordable and closer for us than Madison options - I highly recommend BeeHive; the staff and management made the transition easier and created smile-inducing memories.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Families repeatedly describe BeeHive Homes of Mount Horeb as a warm, home-like community with an environment that feels welcoming, safe, and comforting. Multiple reviewers emphasize the facility’s cleanliness and attractive, newly furnished spaces, noting that the layout and smaller scale contribute to a pleasant, family-style atmosphere. The facility’s small size (frequently referenced as a 16-room setting) is highlighted as a benefit by many reviewers who appreciate the closer relationships and individualized attention it enables.

Care quality and staff performance are the dominant strengths in the reviews. Staff are consistently described as kind, attentive, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. Reviewers credit the team with making transitions easier for residents and families, providing loving and supportive daily interaction, and responding thoughtfully to residents’ needs. There are many concrete examples of personalized care — special room table setups, flowers, music, corsages and boutonnières, and celebratory dinners with sparkling cider — that underline the staff’s attention to individual dignity and quality of life. Several reviewers explicitly note that the community is a good fit for residents with Parkinson’s disease and cognitive issues, and families felt kept informed about behavioral changes, which supports confidence in clinical and memory-related care.

Activities, programming, and community life are also praised. Families report a variety of daily activities, outings, and on-site entertainment, with examples such as flower planting, suncatcher crafts, and community entertainment events. Reviewers describe staff who encourage participation and provide a range of social opportunities that help residents stay engaged. This programming, combined with the lower resident-to-staff ratio, appears to foster close relationships and frequent interaction between staff and residents.

Dining and dietary management receive positive mention: meals are described as appealing ("food smells great") and the community accommodates dietary needs, including gluten-free and dairy-free options. Communication with families is another recurring positive theme — reviewers note good updates from staff and management, a supportive management team, and owners who are approachable and engaged. Several families explicitly say the community provides peace of mind and that they would recommend BeeHive Homes of Mount Horeb to others.

A few limitations are noted or implied across the reviews. The most explicit concern is limited availability: because the community is small, there may not always be an immediate opening when families need placement. The small-community nature — while praised by many — could also be a drawback for families or residents who prefer a larger facility with a wider variety of residents and amenities. Those considering the home should weigh the benefits of personalized, small-scale care against the potential for limited capacity and the possible need to wait for openings.

In summary, BeeHive Homes of Mount Horeb is portrayed as a well-run, compassionate, and family-oriented small memory/assisted living community. Strengths center on highly engaged and caring staff, individualized attention, meaningful activities, strong family communication, and thoughtful touches that make residents feel valued and celebrated. Prospective families seeking a warm, smaller-scale facility that can accommodate dietary needs and cognitive/PD-related care are likely to find this community a good match; the primary practical consideration is the limited capacity inherent to its size, which may affect immediate availability.
