    Poor care negligent staff misleading

I had a horrible experience here. They promised a low-sodium diet but served salty snacks; residents had water retention and leg weeping, and medical orders were handled inconsistently. The director of nursing insisted on hospital admission and then wouldn't allow return; my loved one was improperly discharged and removed from their system. Most staff were lazy, unprofessional, and unreliable-refusing to feed residents, idle and watching TV-and activities are nonexistent (no exercises, no weekend coverage), leaving residents bored and neglected. The building is beautiful and corporate staff pleasant, and a few caregivers stood out, but at the high price this is poor value; they urgently need better staffing and a full-time activity program.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is strongly negative, with recurrent themes of poor day-to-day care, inadequate programming, and troubling clinical and administrative practices that reviewers view as placing residents at risk. While a few positives are noted — principally the attractive physical facility, some cooperative corporate-level staff, and occasional outstanding caregivers — these are overshadowed by a pattern of operational and care-quality concerns raised consistently across multiple reviews.

Care quality and clinical issues emerge as some of the most serious complaints. Reviewers report that promised dietary accommodations (specifically a low-sodium diet) were not honored, with salty snacks being served despite restrictions. There are reports of residents experiencing fluid retention and ‘‘leg weeping,’’ which suggests ongoing wound or edema care concerns. Several reviews describe conflicting medical orders about hospitalization, and an instance where the Director of Nursing allegedly insisted on hospital admission with a plan that would not allow the resident to return. Other reviewers describe an improper discharge process and removal from the facility’s system, and an outright allegation of mistreatment of a 96-year-old resident. These items raise red flags about consistency of clinical protocols, discharge planning, and respect for resident rights and continuity of care.

Staff behavior and reliability are another dominant theme. Many reviewers characterize the majority of caregivers as lazy, unprofessional, or unreliable; examples cited include staff watching television or otherwise being idle, refusing to feed or assist some residents, and generally failing to be present or engaged. At the same time, reviewers note that there are some outstanding caregivers — which indicates variability in staff performance rather than universal failure. Multiple comments also complain that staff and management are not responsive to feedback from families, suggesting weak accountability or ineffective complaint resolution processes.

Activity programming and resident engagement are repeatedly criticized. Reviewers say there are insufficient activities, no regular exercise offerings, and that residents are frequently bored or ‘‘left to rot away.’’ Calls for a dedicated, full-time activities staff member and for weekend coverage appear repeatedly, indicating that current staffing levels or scheduling leave large gaps in programming that affect residents’ quality of life. Given the facility’s pricing, reviewers frequently cite a poor value proposition — expecting more robust daily programming and engagement for the cost being charged.

Facility and management impressions are mixed but lean negative in practice. The building and grounds are described as beautiful, and corporate-level staff are described as pleasant, which suggests the property itself and some higher-level interactions are acceptable. However, these positives do not compensate for front-line problems with caregiving, activity staffing, and clinical decision-making. The pattern in the reviews points to systemic issues: inconsistent caregiver performance, alleged clinical mismanagement and troubling discharge practices, and inadequate programming — all exacerbated by perceived inattention from management when concerns are raised.

In summary, potential residents and families should weigh the facility’s attractive physical environment and occasional strong caregivers against multiple reports of poor daily care, medication/dietary/clinical inconsistencies, neglectful behaviors by some staff, and lack of meaningful activities. The recurring complaints about hospital transfers, improper discharges, and ignored feedback suggest the need for improved clinical governance, clearer policies around hospitalization and admissions/returns, stronger hiring/training/supervision of caregivers, and a dedicated activities team (including weekend coverage). If considering Linden Court New Berlin, prospective families should ask specific, documented questions about dietary protocols, wound and edema management, discharge/readmission policies, staff-to-resident ratios for both care and activities, weekend programming, and mechanisms for escalating and resolving complaints. These steps can help clarify whether the facility has addressed the issues reflected in these reviews or if the negative patterns persist.

    About Linden Court New Berlin

Linden Court New Berlin sits over on W. Fieldpointe Drive in New Berlin, Wisconsin, and offers care for seniors who might need help with personal things like bathing, dressing, or getting around, and there's always someone on staff to give assistance day or night with medication, meals, and other everyday needs, and it's got a 24-hour call system and emergency alerts for safety. This medium-sized Community Based Residential Facility-also called a CBRF-holds about 48 to 49 beds and serves people who need different levels of care, whether that's assisted living, memory care for dementia, or skillful nursing if someone needs more help with their health, and families might find peace of mind knowing it's all licensed by the state and carefully checked for safety.

The building itself tries to give off a home-like feeling with furnished rooms, some with kitchenettes, and offers studio, shared, or companion layouts if folks like company, and there's a handy move-in coordination process to help new residents get comfortable in their new surroundings. Residents can enjoy their days in a cozy community setting with areas to gather, outdoor walking paths, a garden that encourages an active lifestyle, and spaces for arts or a haircut at the barber or beauty salon, and if anyone wants to watch TV or keep connected, cable and WiFi come standard in the rooms along with phones.

Meals are prepared by a chef who knows how to make food for all kinds of special diets, including for folks with diabetes, and everyone eats together in a communal dining room to help keep it social. The staff helps with housekeeping, laundry, and makes sure rooms stay clean so residents don't have to worry about chores. Recreational outings and scheduled activities like movie nights, fitness classes, and daily programs fill up the week, and there's both a regular staff and caregivers dedicated to offering attentive support, whether it's about transferring from bed to chair, managing medications, or coordinating with outside healthcare providers.

For people who want to live on their own with a little help, or who might need more hands-on care as time goes on, Linden Court's got a setup that can adjust to changing needs, offering care that's usually less expensive than a full nursing home but more supportive than living completely alone. It has transportation and parking for residents who want to go out, and nearby, you'll find churches, retail stores, and healthcare offices. Overall, the place tries to maintain a dignified, comfortable environment with personal attention, keeping an eye on respecting each resident's way of life while meeting their needs as they age.
